Seriously.

Look at it this way. Until May 1979 United had never been out of the top two divisions and had spent 55 out of their 79 league seasons in the top division.

On Friday 4th May 1979 Thatcher became PM. On Saturday 5th May 1979, United lost at Cambridge and were effectively relegated to the third division. In the subsequent 34 seasons we have spent 5 in the top tier and 8 in the bottom two tiers.

A coincidence? I think not....

The one thing that Thatcher and United had in common was that they were always looking for strikers.

Well at least it's a change from blaming Paulo. Everyone else is.

I blame Labour for choosing Ed Milliband

Until 2006, United had never been won anything or been promoted under a Labour government. They broke that duck that year, so you can't blame them any more I am afraid.

Soorry got my dates wrong to when he became leader, i thought it coincided with Wilson's appointment. I don't want to go to far in the past to blame everyone! ha

I think you will find we won the county cup under labour

On May 5th 1934 Sheffield United lost 2-0 at Highbury and were relegated to the Second Division for the first time ever after 42 years in the top flight. The same day Woman Haters starring the Three Stooges was released in cinemas.

It's clear that the ones behind the plight of this great football club are Larry, Curly, and Moe.

I think we can all accept that the government of 97-10 was only a labour government in name only...

I blame these three bitches...

I Wanna Be the Only One by Eternal went to #1 in the UK chart on 25th May 1997 - the day before we lost to Crystal Palace in the First Division play-off Final.

United have never been promoted with a manager with the same surname as a former Labour Prime Minister.
