Think we got one in the first half cause I remember having the same thought that no one ever picks up on it.

As you say they cut it out after that. Simple but effective and it normally works to our advantage.

Aye, there was one in the first half that sent Stevens free down the left. I said to my brother 'how did they fall for that?'. Unfortunately, they then stopped falling for it.

Stevens to Fleck back to Stevens in the first half.

We get away with it at least once per game.

but we've already found another one - the one-twos in the oppositions 18 yard box.

Knilly will already be working on something else - watching the Scandinavian 2nd and 3rd division games.

I still think that the Wilder-Knill partnership has only produced very basic set pieces. The real maestro at this was Blackwell. I used to love that free kick routine where they pretended to be unsure who was actually taking it for a few soconds, then two players bump into each other and fall over, whilst a third player runs up and surprise everyone by taking the kick.

It was pure comedy genius!:D A Blackwell/Hal Roach production.

...Stopped us doing that simple throw in routine that gets around the fullback.

I am amazed how long we have got away with that one....

If you don’t know the one I mean you haven’t been paying attention.

Last season Duffy-Baldock had that down to a very fine art. Sometimes over the head of the defender too. Credit to Knill/Wilder for coming up with these seemingly simple things that very few other teams seem to do.

Case in point: that corner to Billy deep into the box that he drilled across face. Great routine.

We did have one in the first half.

Me and the lads were discussing just how many cut back opportunities we create in a game. If we could up the conversion % of those by a few we would be the top scorers In the league by an absolute mile.

We never scored from the Blackwell ' set piece ' you've mentioned did we ?

Off the top of my head Knillys been responsible for three beauties. Scunny and Bradford away leading to Basham and Sharp scoring respectively . Then of course the one that brought the house down at the Sty . Norwoods wasn't bad versus Villa either though to be fair that was a more ' off the cuff ' individual effort .

I think away to Charlton as well when Duffy scored with a mishit. Decent move from the free kick to put him clear if I remember correctly.

Basham’s against Scunny was a beaut.

Good call . I'd forgotten about that one .

Closest I remember is hitting the post against Boro in the cup, his first game as manger. He said he did it as a bit of nostalgia for when he was Warnock's number 2.

Of course that is there for old times sake.

We didn't score.

I think I need a lie down...

Your not the only one . Sharps at Bradford that I mentioned didn't lead to a goal either o_O

Edit : or did it . I'll check it out

Edit:Edit: yes we did score . I need to fuck off back to bed

You're all forgetting the one from James Beattie v Boro Blackwell's first game in charge. Hit the post from what I recall.

We very rarely use the rule that says you can’t be offside from a throw in when we’re near the oppositions area. We should have a player go to the by line that pulls their defence back.
