Having not been to any of the pre-season friendlies how are the team shaping up ? Are we keeping the ball on the floor, passing, hoofing, a mixture of all, do we have pace up front (mind you after Kitson a tortoise would look pacey). Are they worth spending money on to watch this season ? Has Weir impressed up to now ?

I think there are some very encouraging signs and as ever I look forward to the season with unbridled optimism, it has the makings of a good one.

I saw them for the first time last night and had mixed feelings. Obviously its early days but I saw little difference in some aspects from the better days of Danny Wilson, however some stuff (MacD pushed further up and looking committed) had a positive look about it.
Individually, McMinn disappointed me, looked a bit lightweight (a la Tony Wagstaff for our older brethren, Ryan Flynn for todays people), Brandy a real positive, something we haven't had for a while.
A better picture will emerge next Friday of course.....

Not been to any, but we've not played anybody decent so not sure it matters much.

We'll all find out soon enough. I've a feeling we'll either be around 5th all season or it will be a right dogs dinner. Hopefully the first of those. At least we have summat to look forward to for a change, Brandy and Taylor can at least move without the aid of a mobility scooter by all accounts. The season ticket has gone for a burton albion, but im kinda looking forward to the first few games at least. Meaning county and brentford, not the poxy littlecarlingrumbleowsmilk hokey cokey eggcup. Wouldn't pay tuppence to watch that anymore. Then i may end up on supermarket leave. Hopefully not. Hopefully the club will get it's mojo back and watching us will become a pleasure again, not the exercise in boredom and futility it's felt like the last few years. Few possibly being about 30. :)

One reassuring thing is that there hasn't been a single 0-0, or have United failed to score in any game.

O God, I've said it now

Kiss of Death!

Didn't we start one season we five draws in a row? Early Warnock era perhaps.

God help you if that happens again!

Was that the freakish season where even Real Madrid would have struggled to better a 0-0 draw at home to Gillingham?

Aye, that sounds about right! A 2-2 draw with Wolves at home early on too, I seem to recall.

I thought it was a bit desperate at York today, but to be fair it was a mixed side (i think!). Who was the munchkin who came on halfway through second half - recognised him but couldn't remember his name. Looked good.

Urgh - even an incidental reverse shot of that shirt looks wrong...
