To be honest i don't have a clue now.

The club is broken and sinking like a stone, and the board has lost interest, the players have got no interest. The fan are fed up.

Someone needs to do something, but what.

McCabe sell up (preferably), or come out with the mother of all apologies
A request for support for a new regime - your club is on its arse and needs you
Clearing out of whatever we can possibly clear out
Build a team of our own players. Loans to be the exception
Focus on pace, athleticism, youth - wherever possible the academy
Season ticket sales given a massive push, with payment terms as favourable as it gets.

With Alco on most of that...
McCabe must go........someone needs to remind him that 'the value of your investment may go up or down'... I never saw any detailed analysis from any of our financial 'experts' (I know we have them) about the proposed transfer of debt for shares...this seemed like McCabe doing the right thing but I'm not sure (i) if this is actually happening or (ii) if it really is a good thing. Whatever, I don't think we will start to recover until McCabe goes.

Is Adams the right person to rebuild United, his signings have been a mixed bag....Bent - awful, Collins/Doyle - mediocre journeymen, Risse & Lowry - potentially good, Mattock and Vokes - hard to tell. And he's managed to get rid of Britton, Bartley - two of our most skillful players who we could (arguably) have kept for the rest of this season and Ward and Jordan for what appear to be personal fall-outs/attitude problems. He's also slagged off unidentified players. Hardly a recipe for good man management. We are probably stuck with him unless he walks away as there is likely no money for a pay out.

Season tickets - likely to plummet to around 10,000 - a big 'we are truly sorry, we screwed up big time' and no price rises is essential to win back some of the alienated fans. In an ideal world the same big 'sorry, we screwed up' and all tickets 250 quid might restore goodwill, but I doubt we can afford the gesture.

We've not bottomed out yet. Like the Tories under Maggie or Labour under Tony, no one is listening to the same owd same owd anymore. Only after the person at the top goes or is removed can the bridge building even begin.

You know, when you think about the money that's come into the club from tv, Tevez and player sales, McCabe's performance must go down as one of the worst by a chairman in our history.
The rot has potentially ruined the club for a generation.
I think Raul's probably nailed it - we need a new start from the top.

I agree. I dont think we can get moving again until there is a change at the top.

The unltmate gesture from McCabe - divide the club up into 20,000 shares and give it away with season ticket sales. From Hero, to Zero, to Hero again.

Ooh No, I foresee much more Bagging of Carpets, then he will give it away, along with the Rent Book for Bramall Lane .....

Can we please give over with this " he got rid of Bartley and Britton" BS ? HE didnt get rid of them at all, thay REQUESTED to leave for differing reasons. Bartley because Rangers ASKED after him and Britton couldn't settle in Sheff ( pussy struck) and cried he wanted to go home. Adams may be at fault for certain things but that aint 2 of em or are we just piling all the blame for our misfortunes all at his convenient door? in that case OI MICKEY MY FOOKING PIE WAS COLD ON SATURDAY !
Should have employed SOD I bet Donnys pies aren't cold.

We have only heard that they requested to leave and I do believe much of it has been spun from the club. Ultimately I still think they should/could have been kept and both were under contract till the end of the season (Britton for another 2 years). Adams allowed them to move on which was clearly a mistake looking at their replacements and results since they left.

There was nothing of them being unhappy or requesting to leave before Adams came? Adams came in; dropped Britton instantly and then brought in Collins and Lowry when we had Bartley there.

All this 'it is not Adams team' is a load of baloney. He is the manager and he is responsible for organising, coaching and motivating them. At least 40% of most of his team seelctions have been players he has brought in (and some of these have been the worrst players; Bent, Collins, Doyle, Mattock etc).

heard that when collins was brought in bartley asked what was going on.. after getting short shrift from MA he called uncle arsene and they rustled up a plan to get him out ..seeing as he wasn't going to play.. MA managed to piss off our three most creative players.. now jordan has gone to huddersfield. he must be desperate and brought in total shite to replace them .. riise excepted

the solutions are simple.. buy (BUY!) our own defence.. drill them constantly ..you don't need lionel messi to make a defender.. they need positional sense above skill.. someone like stleger from preston would be ideal.. buy linighan while your there or tommy lee..
return ALL loanees.. buy riise if he is that good..
sell the maestro to one of his admirers(!heh as if)..
bring through the young players especially slew (ok he's rough round the edges but he has one thing we lack.. pace)..
sell hendo to warnock.. ched will go of his own accord (norwich?).. get a winger.. and don't expect him to be a defender (why do we always get this.. ooh he can't tackle bollocks.. they are fucking wingers.. they don't tackle!).. and one other thing
CAN WE STOP BUYING/LOANING PLAYERS WITH POOR INJURY RECORDS?
thankyou
personally i think we need a complete culture shift at the club.. but that's another thread entirely

I may be getting the wrong end of the stick,. but didn't we try this with the appointment of Speed, and then take a massive step back with the appointment of Micky?

i dont blame MA for all the problems, wardy has had mardy on since play off final coming on in a final and having the wrong effect,he aint really done owt since getting injured in the derby win and when he has played he dont seem bothered, jordan aint really done owt either.when i am at work and not pulling me weight i get a bollocking, ok so i deserve it sometimes but i learn from it.if jamie ward was grafting hard and scoring regular then i would be right behind him,but we cant have players dictating to the club. adams did,nt get rid of bartly and britton they wanted to go,my only regret they did,nt take taylor, france and nosworthy with them.
a manager has to crack the whip, warnock used to do it. the problems our team have is that,a lot of them dont belong to us,they will fuck off back to their parent clubs at the end of the season and could,nt care less.Mccabe said before we had too many loan players before, but he still sanctioned the deals, up to him stepping down:(

did,nt we hear "its not my team" when robson took over and did we hear it again when blackwell took over from robson !!!! i seem to remember blackwell being asked to reduce the wage bill mmmm i wonder who told him to do that, hindsight is a fantastic tool, should we have kept hold of warnock when we got relegated,i will be honest and say some of his selections bewildered me,but why did,nt he sign quality players ? or was,nt he allowed to like he is doing now and where will he be plying his trade next season ? it strikes me, as everything at the lane is done on the cheap like shopping at netto.

speed dabbled with the idea for a couple of games.. hardly a cultural shift..then he bottled it after the scunny game probably due to his inexperience.. don't bring up nobson btw he was totally incompetent and doesn't count..
what i mean is that we should adopt the barca model and have all the teams playing the same way.. right from junior level.. this battling style is outdated.. our league postion proves it.
