Simple poll, bit of a chicken v egg question, but where do people stand?

many on here have been happy with the managers when we hire them some reluctantly accept the new manager with "well he's here now, I'll support him". On the other hand some cry out for a sacking at the first defeat, some of us never like to see a sacking unless its at the end of the season.

But what do we do better Wilson arrived under hail of bullets, Robson was never wanted, Weir was fired after less than a quarter of a season, Blackwell fired 3 games in...

If you achieve success then it was a good appointment.
I was not too unhappy with Wilson and after watching pre-season I tipped us for automatic promotion.
Turned out to be a good year until the last 3-4 games.

I am not sure there is a new manager out there that all would support from the start - reasons include the person is bad/not good enough/expensive/poor history/stop gap role while the find a better job/worked for a rival/my neighbours best friend's second nephew once met X and they looked a bit funny and so on.

Given this then the only way to win people over is with results - Wilson was a good example of this and despite a good start even then not all were 100% won over. As we have no say in the hiring decision then all we can do is go along with it, however as fans we have a lot more power when it comes to getting people sacked - or at least be more vocal about those wishes.

I hate polls. Waste of time.

Maybe we should have a poll to decide whether we like polls or not - but that would just be prolonging the agony.

We are probably quite bad at both- hence why we have had so many managers over the years.
But then again so many managers are chucked out after a few bad results.

Nigel Adkins performed wonders to get Southampton up and then was dumped part way through the season for some young guy who struggled with English. A bad move many thought at the time - Look at them now.
Chelsea again have made some weird managerial decisions but they seem to do OK. But they have had investment.

With the lower league clubs(us included) money and resource(such as a good academy, facilities etc) are probably the main driving factors behind success along with a Chairman with vision.
We seem to of had no money(pre HRH) and that is why we chop and change too much.
As fans we are all fickle(see some posts on this board at times) and the board has to react at times, so we are as reactionary as them.

We have had justifiable appointments and also sackings, as does the majority of league clubs

Crap at both Swiss thats why i hope the new members of the board are having a big say maybe just maybe they might get it right.
