Bryan Robson has been dealt another major injury blow just days after losing Gary Naysmith with a knee ligament injury against Chesterfield.

Naysmith has been virtually ruled out for the Vicarage Road clash, but another new signing, midfielder, Lee Hendrie, has undergone a knee cartilage operation.

Robson revealed: "Lee had his operation on Thursday morning and is going to be out for six to eight weeks, which is a bit of a blow."

The former Villa man played against Colchester in the opening league encounter having been given a 'mini pre-season' to help catch up with he rest of the squad in terms of fitness - he had been training on his own after leaving the Midlands club.

But it wasn't all bad news for the Gaffer who was able to report that skipper Chris Morgan had overcome the calf strain that had sidelined him, and he is set to be included in Saturday's squad that travels to Watford:

"It's good news that 'Morgs' is back in the squad - we've missed his leadership qualities - but Naysmith tweaked his knee and he's probably going to be out for two weeks."

Could of done without this.

Although thankfully Morgan is back.

This is a massive blow, i had hoped that he would give us a creative spark once he got a few matches under his belt. I suppose it will probably be xmas before we see the best from him (given his lack of fitness even before this injury).

I hope that Squinny can come in on the left and show us that he was no flash in the pan.

Forgive me for stating the obvious, but we depserately need more quality in the middle of the park and i'm starting to worry that we will have to wait till January for the right kind of player to become available.

maybe this is time for carney to have a spell in the squad?

I would expect a midfield of :

Squinny or Carney
Tonge
Monty or Leggy
Keef

yes agree apart from the leggy bit

I think Carney and Tonge both deserve their chances and its up to them to take them. Squinny now brought onto the bench (if injury free)

I'll forgive you, as you are right.

fathi wouldnt be a bad shout, at least on the bench, that is if he IS in robsons plans.

Also it mught make them move a little quicker for someone else
