Hi,

As my name suggests, I'm a Manchester City fan. I come in peace. Just interested in what the Blades fans think about their new aquisition. I saw him quite alot last season, and to be honest, I'm quite pleased he's gone. He works hard, but did not really have the required quality.

And best of luck for the new season, always good to have the Blades in the Premiership, easy away game to get too. And next time we won't bring balloons.

Welcome to the forum.

I've been talking to some city fans and also been reading the forums and most seem to rate the lad... The ones that don't tend to go on to say he isn't good enough for the "Premiership top 4" at the moment.

Could you clarify what you are comparing him against?

Cheers for the friendly comments, will be interesting to see how you lot fare next year. Are you happy that you suddenly have the cash to throw around or are you worried about the repercussions?

Welcome along, we have a good track record in developing promising players so it shouold suit both parties.

I hope you have a good season, just out of interest I heard that there is another football team in your city, is there any truth in the rumour?

Alot of fans did rate him, and for a while he seemed to be one of our best striking options. But Caicedo proved himself to be better, Bojinov returned from injury, and Bellamy arrived. Now we have Tevez and Adebayor, there was no way he would make the team, and it was clear he did not have the potential to break into it. But I can see him as a player who could get 10-15 goals at Championship level. He's strong in the air, and fairly good at holding the ball up. But to cut to the chase, he wasn't prolific enough when he played. But this is a good deal for all parties, £3 million for us, when we (the fans) were expecting far less, and for you a striker who could spearhead your promotion push.

As for the well-publicised financial situation, I am far happier about it than I was when they arrived. Sure, it was magnificent to see Robinho's flicks and tricks, but the figures being bounced around were extortionate, and I felt that we would just blow everyone else out the water. But what I have seen so far has been methodical, and in my eyes, not extornate at all. Barry is a steal for £12m, and is £25 million so bad for two 25-year-old top level strikers. My only misgiving is that Santa Cruz is not worth the £17.5m we spent. But the long and the short of it is, I won't have to watch the likes of Samaras and Corradi (the worst pair of strikers I have ever seen) flounce around, barely exerting themselves, and not scoring at home for 8 months. And I would give any amount of money to never see that again.

Yeah, City reserves. You might be thinking of Salford Red Sox, the American owned franchise. But they aren't in Manchester ;)

Just been chatting with man city mate via facebook and i said to him that when city were playing York City away 10 years ago in what was then division 2 he could never have dreamt that city would be one of if not the richest club in the world.

Yeah, none of us expected it. I remember waking up and getting a message saying we've just been bought up by the richest club in the world, and have made a bid for Berbatov and David Villa. I didn't believe it.
