This was asked on another board.............

25,000 average crowds

19,000 season ticket holders

£3m football debt

Parachute payments till the end of the season

£7m profit up on transfers in/out

“Quality not Quantity”

“Were looking to go up automatic”

“Blacky got an extension because he’s integrated the academy better than any other manager”. He then signs a journeyman from Watford who wasn’t good enough or strong enough a year ago and fecks off Kyle Walker who’s just come back from Northampton after a blinding 3 month loan spell!

“Europe in 5 years”

“We’re a forward thinking club”

“We’re not negotiating with Stoke”

“Why all the doom & gloom”

PATRONISING Snake. Please feel free to add some more of your own gems to the list…

The main dissappointment for me is that I honestly thought Mr McCabe wasnt like the shower that went before him... Ah well there is one born every minute.

We must be the most gullible set of supporters in the world, you want so desperatly to believe, but of course you do and you are always let down badly.

Football used to be a simple game for the working man, of course there was a bit of corruption, but I do believe since it has become 'big business' it is rotten to the core.

This was asked on another board.............

25,000 average crowds - TRUE

19,000 season ticket holders - TRUE

£3m football debt - TRUE or at least in the region of

Parachute payments till the end of the season - TRUE

£7m profit up on transfers in/out - Debatable when taking into account signing on fees and wages/bonuses

“Quality not Quantity” - Statement made, yet to be proven right or wrong

“Were looking to go up automatic” - Goes without saying

“Blacky got an extension because he’s integrated the academy better than any other manager”. He then signs a journeyman from Watford who wasn’t good enough or strong enough a year ago and fecks off Kyle Walker who’s just come back from Northampton after a blinding 3 month loan spell! - First part is true, that was the reasoning. I object to the term "Journeyman" as a description to Bromby. Most Blades werent happy with his sale. He said himself that he wasnt wanted here. Cant say that Kyle has been "Fecked off" as we havent seen the team sheet for saturday. Bromby will at least provide good cover as we are already without Ugo for the remainder of the season. Not mention that Ugo and Morgan arent getting any younger. Not a long term solution in my opinion but a good move.

“Europe in 5 years” - Would be nice but lets be truthful, WE ARE BLADES!!

“We’re a forward thinking club” - I Agree

“We’re not negotiating with Stoke” - Statement made by Mr. McCabe as of 14:15 on Saturday, not 17:00 Monday

“Why all the doom & gloom” - We are Blades, we always do! As discussed with Sensi before the match on saturday it wouldnt make a different what we did. We would complain if we signed a player for an amazing amount of money, i can already here "HOW MUCH? £xm on that bag of crap!" we would complain if we spent nothing on unknown players, and we would complain if we didnt do anything. The Club, Management and Team are never going to win with those odds. (Legal Disclaimer:- The Term "we" is used as a descriptive term and by no means implys that the fanbase as a whole are in agreement)

PATRONISING Snake. Please feel free to add some more of your own gems to the list… - Your opinion i assume? I dissagree but then thats my right...............sorry reight! :D

If only at some stage we could sign someone like a £4million striker from the Premiership on big wages? If only we'd ever had the ambition to do that :)

We'll have to wait and see what happens as always. If it frees up funds to sign 2/3 players who can do it for us, then it may been seen as a good move at the end of the year.

The only thing McCabe has to do is stop talking bollox.

He's behaving like a complete twat in my book, no wonder no body wi quality wants to come to BDTBL.

It's the lies that annoy me. If anyone had come out and said - like Steve Coppell did - that we've got to cut our cloth according to our position, then some people would have grumbled, but at least they'd have been telling the truth. It's getting to be now that I am doubting everything that comes out of the mouths of the two Kevs, as a lot of it is turning out to be so much horseshit.

I can face being a small club. I can face being a selling club, even. I know that we're not Manchester United, or Manchester City, or Chelsea. I can handle all that. Just don't lie to me.

I fear that a lot of damage has been done to the relationship between the club and the fans. I hope we don't end up like Wednesday.

He did, didn't he? Didn't he publicly say we needed to cut the wage bill? He said on Saturday that Stoke had put in a bid, and that we hadn't accepted it. That clearly changed by last night. It doesn't mean that he was lying on Saturday.

I think we all think that, pretty much, mate. The last bit above all.

I don't think so, but we've got long memories and this is reminiscent of times gone by, UNLESS we get someone in to replace Beattie. If we don't, then questions should be posed. It's only just over 12 hours since it was confirmed that he'd gone to Stoke. Let's not get carried away just yet.

Don't get me wrong though, I think it's a poor bit of business from us, especially as it's very possible that Stoke will end up being one of our close rivals come next season.

The thing is though, HH, for every fan who's sensible - like you - there's another god knows how many who start foaming at the mouth if their favourite player isn't picked week in, week out.

If we had to save money, why not start by getting rid of some of the other clubs we have? Are we to believe that our only saleable asset is our star striker? A lot of the expectation that the fans have of the club - whether unrealistic or not - is thanks to the club themselves, with their talk of 'The Blades Way' and being a top ten Premier league club.

McCabe should never have said that he didn't understand where all the fuss was coming from - if he doesn't realise that it's at least in part due to his hyperbole over the last few years, then he's more naive than I thought.

What's come out of this whole affair is:

- we look like a laughing stock to other clubs.
- the fans are up in arms, and feel like they have been lied to - adding fuel to the fire of those who say that Blackwell lied to us too.
- other clubs know that they can prise our players away on the cheap. I very much doubt we'll keep Naughton for any period of time, and I also fear that estimations of £4m and above are wildly optimistic.
- we've lost our one recognised goal scorer.

The only upsides are that we've got £2.5m and a reportedly high earner off the wage bill. Hardly seems worth it to me.

Try reading what is on the main site about Lita!

I have read it. In fact, I posted it on this very site.

I have my doubts as to whether Lita will be a Blades player come the end of January.

Stumbling block is the terms of the deal I guess we have just found out Lita wont be that cheap in wages I reckon.

35% of the wage budget on Beattie but is it worth it if we have offloaded him and replaced him with someone who is nearly as demanding in terms of wages.

If only we could negotiate everything in public then we could all chip in. On the other hand if it is done confidentially we can all make up our own version and dump on the lot of them - seems to be more fun this way. Just let's win the game to day and keep going.
