Well i've got to say i'm pretty happy at the moment, 3 clean sheets in a row(when did that last happen?) a number 9 thats banging them in for fun and sat very comfortable in the play offs.
Playing in horrible conditions away from home against hard working, something to prove sides and winning 1-0 you gotta be pleased with that or you just shouldn't bother.

Something that worries me is that of the top 8, six teams won today. The other two didn't play. Like last week, the other teams around us are not dropping points and I wonder if we're going to be the ones to lose the pace first.

or will it be one of the other teams ? If Huddersfield lose on Monday they will be dragged in with the pack.

No, i think chorlton, hudds, filth and MK have all got their 'sticky patches' to come we've had ours. I really think we've turned a corner and should be more concerned about what we do and knickers to everyone else til May. Onwards and upwards!

Looks like nailed on play-offs at this stage. Charlton pulling clear, Huddersfield so far unbeatable, top 5 pulling clear of chasing pack

I'd of been chuffed to bits with the play offs at the start of the season, maybe with a bit of wheeler dealing in Jan we could have a push for automatic? Oh yes by the way only one loan signing in our squad today.

Saturday 5 December 2009 | Championship | Plymouth 0-1 Sheffield United | Harper (88)
Tuesday 8 December 2009 | Championship | Sheffield United 0-0 Nottingham Forest
Saturday 12 December 2009 | Championship | Sheffield United 2-0 Crystal Palace | Williamson (21) Quinn (86)

All thanks to that bastard Blackwell.

Very confusing for me this year. On one hand I think we're pretty shite. But I expected us to be shite and struggling. We're shite and up there. You've got to be pleased really. In the end I think it's all aout what happens when this current lot are moved on. I really can't see us getting promotion, so it's all about enjoying the ride as best as.

But both the other two cannot both win :-)

It's a funny season as we feel we shouldn't be having a promotion drive in this pap division. But let's enjoy the promotion drive that we are on. I admit to finding it hard to get excited but when I first started watching us regularly port fucking vale were on our heels for automatic promotion. Let's enjoy us v the pigs in a promotion drive. It's unique, it hasn't happened for donkeys years and, let's be honest, won't happen in a race for the prem.

I think the franchise have had their's as well.

It sounds like me and Oughti-blade were separated at birth, but he's right really. When the piggies came down, they immediately launched HMS Pisstheleague, whilst we were bundles of self-doubt. We've survived having the 'worst defender ever in a United shirt', and the 'worst keeper ever in a United shirt', and moved on to having the 'worst striker ever in a United shirt'. We've also survived the 'how will we be able to kick a ball without the two Blackpool lads' and won games with Monty, Doyle AND Cresswell all on the pitch, together.

We know that it will all end in tears in the play-off final again, but its important not to be over-critical. We have no right to just turn up and beat any team and there will be plenty of challenges and frustrations to come. We'd all have taken top 6 at Christmas (which is where we will be)...

........ and we're just 4 (or 6) points behind an automatic promotion place.

The other point of note was that all the other teams in the top eight that won yesterday, were all at home.
