Can anyone really see clough turning this club around. Most of his signings have been poor, his tactics are terrible. His media skills are limited, his record as a manager is at the best is average. He only got the derby job because of his dad. He hasn't enough experience as a manager never worked under this amount of pressure before doesn't know his best formation or team. I honestly don't think he knows what to do. I'm not one to change the manager every two minutes but I can't see him taking us any ware ...

I think he'll figure out this league for next season. A mix of big 6'5 nasty bastards and some youthful pacey players is what you need to get up.

I'll give him until sept/oct next year. If we're not in top 2 then time to go.

My only hope for this year is that we get in playoffs and he gets us performing like he has in the cups. It is pure hope and blind faith though

Who gives a shit about his media skills ? He could be a bumbling gibbering muppet for all I care if only he could get us winning games. Dave Weir (Who ?) came across well, articulate, well presented, media savvy, but useless, unlike our Nigel !

When he comes out and slags his own players to the media I care.

I would like to say yes, but at the minute it appears to be no. Lets see where we are at the end of the season. He is being badly let down by his playing staff at the mo.

I said before the game today that I have a niggling concern that Clough is a good 'stabiliser'.

He was just what we needed when he first came in. We needed players organised, fired up and getting the basics right that Weir never could get us to do. He did that (as he did at Derby too) but now that the expectation is promotion. IMO he needs to change his mindset to playing to win instead of playing not to lose. Case in point; McClaren at Derby. I don't particularly rate Shteve Mc as a manager but you could argue that he is getting more out of the Derby players then Clough ever would.

He should get until the end of this season and that's it IMO we can't afford another pre season of shit signings for him to then be sacked around November time therefore another season write off. What's happening on the pitch isn't good enough I just hope the last 12 games are much much better and we can therefore make the playoffs and give it a good go.

Very true. If we were winning games people would be saying his honesty was refreshing.

IMHO the last two performances have been as bad as what Weir served up so maybe the end I a skills are looking like the biggest difference atthe moment
