I would love to see Guardiola join a mid-table League 1 club, work with a relatively modest budget and then lift that club to the Premier League in 3 years.

I do respect Gary Neville for taking on a similar ( but smaller ) challenge at Valencia but not many Big Time Charlies would dare.

Could Wilder be successful at Man City? Let's pray we never find out.

Suppose but I reckon our man has performed a minor miracle with us and Guardiola has met expectations, in fact no Champion s League success and disappointment in the E.P.L ( they have to win it) will cast a shadow.

I love this argument whenever it comes up. Why would Pep ever need to take a League 1 job? There’s a reason the best sides give him jobs again and again.

Both joined their club summer 2016. Guardiola 2 EPL and league cups as compared to Wilder L1 Champions and Championship promotion - budget to budget, inherited squad to squad. Wilder Manager of the Year this past year.

Team v team last Sunday/ budget to budget.

Guardiola is not all that. Inherited the best Barca side in history and still let Mourinho win the league. In Germany he failed to make the defending Champions competitive in the Champions League despite inheriting an outstanding squad. In England, his only competition from a financial point of view is Manchester United who have been in absolute disarray since he's been manager.Despite this, he looks like he will lose the title to Liverpool.
In Europe (the acid test) he has been knocked out by Spurs and Liverpool.I'm not saying the emperor has no clothes, but he's not as warm as many think he is. He's spent half the season moaning about Laporte's injury with a bench full of 50-60 million pound defenders FFS.
