Better introduce myself. Raised in Chesterfield, moved to Sheffield in 1960's abeen fans after a spell in Doncater. Decided to introduce my sons to proper football by taking them to Sheffield united and we have been supporters since 1966. In the 1970's we moved to New Zealand.
In two trips back, have been to the Lane, and one of my sons followed them everywhere during a trip some years ago.
Watch or listen to games on the computer in the early hours of Sunday mornings usually, and manage to keep updated on the net. Have still gots lots of Blades fans as friends.
I am now heading for senility, but the one good thing I did was to get my two older sons into the Sheffield United habit!
I enjoy the cut and thrust of the site, and feel that we are well up to date with all that is happening.
Special greetings to Big Mart and Little Di - friends from way back now.
Guess I won't contribute much that is constructive, but I can still enjoy the reading!

Hope the summer is being good for you - we're all been up to our eyeballs in snow and ice!

We have friends just outside Auckland and in Rotarua. Spent a bit of time touring round NZ - especially loved canoeing down the Whanganui River for three days, seeing the whales off Kaikaura and spending time in the East Cape (? - north from Gisbourne)

We looked at emigrating too - but it was just too far from family (for my wife) and from BDTBL (for me!) (Think my priorities probably need re-adjusting!)

May get down to meet our Auckland mates next year (to see their new bairn) - be nice to catch up for a beer if poss??

Life in New Zealand I understand is good having been informed from a friend who has just been.
This is a great site and will keep you in touch with all that is going on at the Lane.
Most of us are originated direct from family connections to the Blades.
Do not worry about growing older, I bet you are younger than me!!!!!!!
