GREAT WIN BLADES

‘They’ reminded of me of when we had Warnock pre promotion when we were just treading water in this division, they are built for competitive football not to go down but also not to go up. Happy for the win.

Not a great game or a classic by any means, but a win is a win, we deserved it and I'm pleased for Campbell as he didn't get a sniff all game (not Wilder's or his fault). 3 in 4 games now.

I thought Souttar was exceptional and I was surprised that Hamer got MOTM over him. Glichrist was our best player in the first half and Seriki was excellent when he came on.

Not an easy game for Wilder to manage with subs given how threadbare the bench was.

Wendy looked okay in possession and out of it, but just couldn't create anything as Souza and Arblaster/Peck wouldn't let them get going in the final third. I didn't think they were that poor and came with a game plan that largely worked. They were clearly targetting Arblaster as challenges on him were heavier than others, so this was obviously done to fire up their crowd.

The referee was very fussy and inconsistent. I thought yellow was right for Bannon and Burrows was unlucky to get a yellow for his foul. As for giving a foul on their keeper when Burrows had a Pig defender between him and the keeper, and the Pig defender brought Burrows down and the keeper collided with them both of his own doing? Baffling. Truly baffling.

I get it wasn't an easy game to referee as there was a lot of cynical fouls, shirt pulling, handbags etc, but he was very inconsistent. He gave a foul against Rak-Sakyi for a player backing into him where Rak-Sakyi's arm touched his back, then the Pig went down clutching the back of his head. Again, baffling as the Pig jumped into Rak-Sakyi.

Inspired substitution putting Seiki on

It was a great win,and a very good performance,we produced exactly what was needed for the occasion, used our heads and the tactics were spot on.
We got up and down the pitch, mixed long and short game,we played out of defence well, very few unforced errors, passing was good and we found the space to progress up the pitch, when we went long, somebody was invariably on the end of it to keep their defence occupied.
Defence was great,we were organised and got our blocks and tackles in time after time to keep them at arms length nearly all game, they only had that run into the box all game, and still they never got a shot off at the end of the run,we turned over possession high up the pitch plenty of times and they just ran down the blind alleys we sent them down every time they tried to trouble us.
We produced the best move of the game with a well worked goal, super from OHare and Campbell with a great finish to go down in our folklore.
Every player was up for it and by the end they realised they had been outfought and out manoeuvred, they had no way to break our concentration and resilience all over the pitch .
