Interesting, always rated him as a goalkeeper, went down in my estimation when he signed for Wet Spam. The age thing is a bit of a concern but does not seem to have put off one of our alleged chief promotion rivals. Would still prefer him in goal to anything we have got unless Howard re-captures some of his form.

To be fair you could stick the sacred love child of Gordon Banks and Lev Yashin in goal for United and they would still concede with that shambles of a defence in front of them. Usually two negatives make a positive but with Long in goal and that defence it makes for getting our arse tanned regularly. Hope this new bloke is up for the scrap and not the scrapyard.

Maybe Adkins could borrow that thing they have at Alton towers to make sure the kids are tall enough for the ride if he can't work out we have too many dwarves in the side.We still need another CH, LB, GK and decent CM. So its show me the money time for Adkins I think because even if he can get rid of some of the dross there won't be much cash coming in from the sales. Wouldn't surprise me if we don't end up cashing in on Murphy who is about the only really saleable asset worth much.(apologies to Reed and Adams).

just seen Wigan have signed Juusi Jaskalineen on a one year deal. Big, strong and very experienced goalkeeper who has spent his entire career in the Premiership.

And people wonder why we are now in our 5th season in this godforsaken hinterland, this explains a lot

Parachute money helps and it helped Wolves when they were in this division.

Why is it that if a club in our division signs a player its "why didn't we sign him?"
