Thats the big wigs at BDTBL

Find a new owner fast ................. I hate to say it but I can see the pigs leaping past us fast if we continue blowing about in the wind !
 

As usual BB your analysis is spot on. It's obvious if no new owner is found we will continue to decline, possibly at an even more rapid pace. It's sad but mr mcCabe has been found to be woefully wanting when it comes to the running of a football club.
 
The words "easier said than done" springs to mind. Seriously if the likes of Milan wanted to buy us they would. Certainly be cheaper than buying Wendy.

The likes of Milan? He's not exactly loaded by football standards. McCabe's wealth is reported to be about 3 to 4 times more than Milan's. Unfortunately it seems McCabe has given up on us but I don't think attracting someone like Milan is the answer.

I wouldn't want him anywhere near us. Poor record at Leicester, no real investment in players and an alarming turn over of manager, one every 4/5 months.

Managers I will give you, but his record at Leicester was not poor. One relegation, yes, but that was followed by promotion at a canter and then a playoff place at the first attempt. Plus he took Portsmouth up.

I don't know for sure - & can't be arsed to check - but I have a Leicester supporting mate who said he didn't spend much money there. He also said the fans aren't disappointed to see him go.

Disappointed with McCabe - yes. Jealous of the Pigs with Milan - no.

The story according to Holloway is that he got sick of the fear of losing leading him to play expedient, desperate, defensive football. It didn't work and it made him miserable.

So he said in future he'd play without fear and let the chips fall where they may.

Less than £1 Million a year in players, 8 managers sacked and a team which were looking good for relegation before the new owners came in.
But he did get them out of League one, after they were relegated on his watch.

I wonder how much money was spent on paying off the contracts on those 8 "crap" managers more than on transfers I'd suggest.
Obviously he is now a genius, and brilliant because he has taken over at S6.

Very easy to understand Duncs, you under the weather a bit? Fails at Leicester, gets deservedly sacked for horrendous results. Brilliant job at Blackpool.

I'm just saying Bob it is reasonable to view his time at Leicester in different terms to the one you portray.

At least McCabe won't have to look too long or far for someone local to ask about taking clubs out of league one at the first attempt.

I was just establishing that someone could do well in one job and badly in another. It just opens up the faint possibility that despite the small successes he has had, Mandaric is not necessarily nailed on to drive the pigs up the leagues, thats all.

I know you seem to think that almost anything that other clubs are doing is better than we can possibly manage, but theres really no need to big up their chances. They've had plenty of practice at doing it for themselves...
 
I'm sure this thread started as a discussion about the blades. Why has been hijacked by those who are fascinated by the darkside? Who gives a flying fig what is happening at the darkside? Surely only what is happening at bdtbl is of interest. Even as a metaphor or an example I have no interest in them. Rant over.

Without wishing to contradict, the OP has the phrase "I can see the pigs leaping past us fast " in it, which I and seemingly others took to be Beighton playing on the fears (of some) that we are to lose our place as Sheffields No.1 team to the pork. This is nonsense of course, as Wednesday regardless of successes and league position have always been, and always will be No.2...

Just to clear things up ................... My main point was we are blowing about in the wind with no real leadership, in other words going backwards. The pigs on the other hand have ditched the debt hanging around there neck therefore gaining ground on us.
Yes Dunc in mine and your eyes and other Blades we will always be Sheffields #1 but alas not with all.

No matter who has taken over, what state their finances are!
Lets concentrate on ours............................
We've pissed a fortune up the wall, managed to sell all our best players, hired a load of crocks, has beens and never will be's and still paying the shower of shite 10 million a year!
We have a chairman whose running of the club is nothing short of scandelous, a chief executive who is a puppet at best, a rookie manager who doesn't know which way to turn, a bulk of supporters that get upset at the first sign of an arguement and all we whinge about is
that lot over in S6 being bailed out by Manderic! .......................................the mind boggles!!!

Fiery - just an addition to your fantastic post if I may? 'A chief exec who is a puppet at best' and was remunerated to the tune of £251k in the year to June 2010.

Indeed, wages at the same level or possibly more than his counterpart at S6 who helped secure investment for a club on the brink of administration.
Add in the fact that he adds to the leadership vacuum by saying the square root of f'all to inform supporters of anything.
The lad's doing a great job.
 

OK lets forget the pigs .............. and concentrate on BDTBL

We have an owner who has thrown in the towel, he's resigned as Chairman perhaps to take one step back from the flack, he's playing pass the parcel with group assets and Sir dum fookwit Trevor seems to have lost his marbles.......hey but don't worry were looking for new owners/investors.

Perhaps just perhaps the price is too high ?

By the way who does own the freehold? :D
