How can anyone who went to the match yesterday have anything but contempt for Blackwell when you read this tripe? Our manager's take on the match is that it was the ref's fault and we were a bit below par in the first half. He clearly has contempt for us if he thinks that having watched the match we are likely to agree with this.

We were as comprehensively outplayed yesterday as I can remember by a team we are supposed to be on a level playing field with. If they had finished well it could easily have been 6 or 7. In the second half West Brom were happy to concede more of the pitch to us and then try and hit us on the break, to suggest it was down to us playing better is garbage. Blackwell's tactical adjustment in the second half seemed to be to get the full backs, in particular Walker to play higher up the pitch. this led directly to their third goal and a number of other clear breaks they had in the second half. Apart from the pen Carson didn't have a save to make in the second half despite our alleged improvement.

Still it wasn't all bad, Jordan Stewart's performance at full back was worth most of the entrance money if only for comic entertainment. Seriously, how much longer are we going to have to put up with this Joke of a manager, his tactical naiveity and his ugly football?

I stopped reading anything that Blackwell says about 4 months ago, because it used to wind me up to the point where I thought I was genuinely watching different things to him. I'm trying not to change that, so I'm basing it on what you've said.

The ref got the decision wrong for the pen, and he was the worst ref I've seen in a long time, but he wasn't responsible for the defeat. Like I said in the match thread, for the penalty decisions were even despite the fact they were all wrong.

We lost yesterday, because we played against a much better team who could, and should have scored more than they did.

Do you really expect him to come out and say to the press that we were rubbish for 90minutes and take no positives?

Very, very rarely do managers do that.

No, I wouldn't expect him to be that blunt but what he has written is either what he thinks or it's a fabrication. If it is what he thinks then god help us, if it is just because he thinks he has to say something then it's worthy of our contempt. I hate this "we must always be positive" attitude we have these days, it's dishonest and ultimately self defeating.

Its ghost written out of bits of interviews. I really dont get why people get worked up about it...

Yep.
Blackwell may well say "We were shit, and the referee was shit too." Webnerd edits it to "The referee was shit." It's like showing you just ten pieces of a 300 piece jigsaw.

Still, as Dunc says, there's no point getting worked up about it. It's like those two word reviews of films. "Fantastic achievement" says Johnathon Ross, according to the poster. What he actually said was "It's a fantastic achievement that this piece of cack made it out of the editing suite" but they won't put that on their poster, will they. It's not lying, it's just being very econimical with the truth.

You are right of course I shouldn't get worked up by it but I am weak, you should start a sideline as a stress counsellor:thumbup: Still if people were ghostwriting stuff for me and I didn't agree with it, I'd let them know sharpish, he presumably gets the sayso over what is published under his name?

He isn't likely to say "I don't know what I'm doing. I should be sacked in the morning." Even Brian Laws has never been that honest.

I've not read it because I can't be arsed and it's shite uttered by Blackwell , but the general content seems to go the opposite way to when we thrapped Reading and he then came on the radio and slated the players for being a bit crap.

I doubt it. Its released an hour or two after the game, when Blackie is going to be very busy getting all the injuries dealt with and getting everyone back on the bus. I expect our wonderful press officer cobbles it together using the theme of some quotes from the post match interview.

In fact, I doubt very much if Blackie ever reads it himself...
