How can anyone who went to the match yesterday have anything but contempt for Blackwell when you read this tripe? Our manager's take on the match is that it was the ref's fault and we were a bit below par in the first half. He clearly has contempt for us if he thinks that having watched the match we are likely to agree with this.
We were as comprehensively outplayed yesterday as I can remember by a team we are supposed to be on a level playing field with. If they had finished well it could easily have been 6 or 7. In the second half West Brom were happy to concede more of the pitch to us and then try and hit us on the break, to suggest it was down to us playing better is garbage. Blackwell's tactical adjustment in the second half seemed to be to get the full backs, in particular Walker to play higher up the pitch. this led directly to their third goal and a number of other clear breaks they had in the second half. Apart from the pen Carson didn't have a save to make in the second half despite our alleged improvement.
Still it wasn't all bad, Jordan Stewart's performance at full back was worth most of the entrance money if only for comic entertainment. Seriously, how much longer are we going to have to put up with this Joke of a manager, his tactical naiveity and his ugly football?
