From an Ipswich perspective

Agree, very fair comments.

It was as though McCarthy had studied our team, knew they couldn’t compete in an open game.
They seemed to willingly surrender midfield and set up to defend in numbers, soak up the pressure, then hit us on the break to try and sneak a 1-0.

In fairness his negativity nearly worked, they didn’t attack much but did have a few half chances but nothing clear cut. Their tactics were quite similiar to Norwich and the Canaries managed a 1-0 win against us.

First goal was always going to be key.

Ipswich were a decent, hard working and organised team but they were underwhelmimg and never went for it, far too cautious.

Pretty fair summary
Even though it didn't sound it at times I agree with much of what he said

Thought he was very fair and knew his stuff about Ipswich UTB

He picked up on our centre halves bombing on to create an overload. I tried to explain that to a non blade the other day and he looked at me like I was a moron.

My favourite goal this season (aside from the goals at Hillsborough) is the winner against Barnsley. Sharp converted a cross from a overlapping centre back. That's unorthodox tactics paying dividends.
