If all is well at Bramall Lane then we should wish for no more.

This is a medium and long term project and the news from the Palace reminds us what we should wish for.

The evaluation we should all be making is whether Clough has the capability to take us where we want to be. Not just this month, but in due course.

Weird this because Parish was only on Sky Sports news a couple of days ago telling the world that all was well at his club. They had a few rows regarding player bonuses but all that was resolved. Most importantly he was happy about how things finished last season under Pulis. He also said that he was confident on signing a couple of players before the seasons starts, he said the club was in advanced talks with one particular player and he expected him to join the club but refused to name him .

No smoke without fire - Parish and Moody (ex Cardiff, sacked by Vincent Tan) for over spending apparently do all the negotiating on players coming in, based on a Pullis recommendation.

Depends whether you agree with the old fashioned way - Pullis, Warnock, Clough or whether every club will eventually go to how Leeds have become - a first team coach with someone else bringing in players and like how Palace appear to be going.

Clubs in the UK are still over spending with people like Harry R at QPR saying "hello chairman - I need another player"

Thick ex players, in charge of managing clubs and buying players for silly money has been a recipe for disaster at many clubs for years, including our own.

It has to stop somewhere.

Whatever's going off at Palace, they need to sort it soon !
Losing Pullis would be an absolute disaster for them !

Pullis saved them from a certain drop. The moaners in our camp should shut up and support our manager and team unless we want the same fate.
The same thing happened at Derby, the moaners complained as the core of the team were cheap, unknown quantities, who worked well as a team, with 'til this day, an amazing team spirit and they are now reaping the rewards. NC knows what he is doing, he is building a team that is just starting to gel. A team of players who will support each other, give 100% and see the possibility of this club.
Arguably, their best, most important player, Martin, was brought in for the role Higdon will fill here and by the looks of things, he will do it well.
Many want promotion in August, I suggest if we are thereabouts in December, NC has put us in with a outstanding chance as the club certainly has more depth should injuries, or fatigue set in.

This is the flaw in everything you said above. IF we are there, we have a chance, but the point is a significant section of us don't believe we will be 'there abouts' with the current squad.

Is that not the board's fault, though. I've never understood why the managers take the blame for overspending; the financial stewardship of the club is the board's responsibility.

Palace were nearly bust a few years ago. No surprise they don't want to waste millions on 30+ year olds. Pulis has been a right cock here.

Sit back and enjoy the ride Blader. Wednesday's two goals were nicely worked and we, after only 180 minutes are starting to see good link up play.

NC has not let SUFC down yet and he never will. Wish I could say the same about some of our "supporters"!

Grecian2000, You mean the "supporters" that were fighting on our glorious day at Wembley, or the ones that slag off every new player that comes in before they've kicked a ball?
Perhaps those that slagged off McNulty as crap and shite, yet he scored on his first full debut. Those that slag off Davies, yet he has assisted, or been involved, in all 3 goals thus far.
Personally, as a "supporter", one who gets behind the team, I see many good signings already...Higdon, one goal, one assist, McNulty, one goal, one game, Davies, JCR. There is plenty to be positive about! Just some embarrassing supporters seem to find the negative in everything and everyone.

I not sure I agree.

We all have our football opinions, and I personally don't believe we have the squad to win promotion, but that doesn't make me less of a 'supporter', I would personally call you delusional if you think we have the best squad in the division. However, it's a game of opinions.

I get behind the team as much as any blade in the ground, in fact I am so passionate about us succeeding I emphasise my disappointment with our current squad in the hope we can improve it and win promotion. We will only know who is correct in May, and I will turn up week in week out as I always have, but my expectations and firmly grounded this season. If anything I'm in a better position than you, as I won't be disappointed if/when we fail to get up. My disappointment is in the present as we have failed to assemble a quality squad in my eyes. This squad failing to win promotion is not a failure on their part as I don't feel they're good enough players to warrant promotion.

No, I don't mean any. I'm not obsessed with them, each to their own.

I don't use the term "so called" in front of the word supporters or put quotes around the word to show my disapproval. I don't let them embarrass me and I sure as hell don't blame them for anything that goes off on the pitch or in the boardroom.

;)Of course, I wasn't talking about you Blader...unless you were one of those spoiling are day out at Wembley!

Be good if you made your mind up. First we have a problem then we don't then we do again.

I'm wishing really really very carefully that we had finished 11th in the Prem last season in front of packed houses every game. I'm using weapons-grade careful wishing that we'd sold our best player for £15m and managed to loan him back for most of the season. I'm also using a degree of careful wishery that makes it look like Dorothy turns to Toto and says "meh, s'oreight 'ere" by comparison that despite losing a manager for our second season in the top flight, there are teams like Burnley that have come up, Soton have done a Blackpool, Sham, Villa, Sunlan etc haven't got any better and WBA are managed by Alan Irvine.

Have I managed to convey the level of wishage and care thereof?
