Read an interesting article online earlier today about Keith Eddy. By all accounts did quite well when he turned out for New York Cosmos, was Pele's team captain for a while!

Got me thinking about other former Blades who joined the NASL and what sort of team they'd make up so here goes ..

G Jim Brown
D Cliff Calvert
D Keith Eddy (c)
D Eddie Colquhoun
D John Ryan
M Jimmy Johnstone,
M Bruce Rioch
M Alan Birchenall
M Alan Woodward
F Peter Withe
F Peter Anderson

Subs:
Nicky Johns,
Colin Franks,
Ken Mallender,
Chico Hamilton,
Ray Lewington,
Jeff Bourne

Manager: Ken Furphy.

I've made an online list here of some ex-Utd players who spent time playing in America. Any more for any more?

David Bradford, Terry Garbett, Stewart Scullion (played in Team America X1 against England in 1976) and Tony Field

Aye, I do believe Scullion scored the only game of the tournament for Team America who were managed by Ken Furphy.

Going off on a tangent a bit I included Peter Anderson in NASL Blades XI & I've got a vague memory of him scoring a really good goal for Utd that was possibly a goal of the month on MOTD. Does this ring a bell with you?

Yes, it was his second goal in the 3-2 win against Sunderland in Oct 1978. It came second in the goal of the season. Richard Harwood won a ball in the halfwal line and passed to Sabella who calmly turned round, looked up, sent a deft chip to Anderson who received the ball with a little nod on the head and raced away to slot the ball past Sunderland's keeper, Barry Siddall. Keith Eddy's goal at Spurs (we won 3-1) won the goal of the month in February 1975

Theres another of Anderson's goals on the YTV video, how many did he score for us in total?
