Never to be forgotten 5-1 win over Cardiff seeimg John Street rise up as one as the third and 4th went in
A Reece bananaa shot a Currie header , a forlorn Warboys looking lost for them

being 3-0 up against Arsenal after 15 minutes as we reversed a 5-0 from 18 months earlier

clobbering Leeds 3-0 in our unbeaten start back at the top

hitting 6 past Spurs
beating Blackburn on penalties to get to the fa cup semi final

beating coventry 2-0 last night home game last season and we knew wed go up at northampton on the saturday
last game I saw live last season

The league cup run in 02/03. Leeds, Sunderland, Palace & Liverpool were all great games under the lights.

Coventry in 98 on St, Paddy’s Day.

Sheffield United v Burton Albion under Adkins.

A weird 'anti' stand out for being THE worst Sheffield United performance I will ever see. I say will, because there is no way we could ever put in a performance worse than that in the future.

If you were one my fellow lucky souls there then you should get a commemorative badge for sitting through it. Shudder.

That was a shocker. Remember Brayford having one of the worst games I’ve seen anyone have for United, turned a lot of people against him that night accusing him of not wanting to try against a Clough side.

The big question is, how many people were at both this AND the other infamous under-the-lights defeat, against Port Vale in 1999? :)

I remember scoring 5 in consecutive home games in 2003. The first was under the lights vs Rotherham with Peschi and Nuddy scoring 2 each and Tongue scoring the other. We then played Cardiff 4 days later on the Saturday with Nuddy scoring a hattrick. Not a bad few days eh!

Just seen the thread title and I've got a few:

Coat, hat and gloves on and just looking for the scarf

First goal scored by Dearden
I was there travelled from Lincoln where I was working, on the Saturday we clinched promotion at home in the last game of the season, can't get better than that.

Beating Grimsby 2-1 from a goal down. Kick started the triple assault season after a slow start.

Also the first sight of a certain S Kabba.
The Chief stood screaming his head off celebrating his goal right in front of me down the front of the Kop, loved that night

The Blackburn game was special. Was just thinking about it the other day

Cardiff City 1970 I think. 5-0 wasn’t it? (Or 4-0) can’t remember!

Cardiff City was 5-1 in 1971 I was 10. We then beat Watford 3-0 to gain promotion.
Spurs 6-0
Blackburn quarter final on penalties guy behind me grabbed me and said this is better than sex
Leeds 2-1
Arsenal 1-0
Liverpool 2-1 (Tonge scored twice and I was his PE teacher so this tops it for me. Saw him a few weeks later and this was the best night of his life)
River Plate forgot score but a few days after knocking the European Champions Liverpool out of the League Cup we beat the South American Champions. I was young and as far as I was concerned we were now unofficial World Champions.

Watford at home in the Bassett 1990 promotion season.

Typical for us we’d had a massive wobble and looked like we’d fall away. We won convincingly and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Deane scored against Tony Coton with a bobbling shot that hit a divot and flew over his shoulder.

Think the official attendance was about 16,000. It felt like they were all stood with us in the middle of the Kop. It was rammed back there.

“And now yer gonna believe us....”

February 1970 - My first visit to the Lane v QPR - we won 2- 0. This night match spawned a monster that nearly 50 years later, still has the ability to exhilarate and thrill me to the stars and back, yet still has a knack of breaking my heart, delivering a hefty kick to the knackers or descending me into rants of volcanic proportions.

That's why it's great to be a Blade.

1-0 v Liverpool
1-3 v River Plate
Penalties v Coventry
Play off v Forest
Premier League v Arsenal
Browny v Pigs

Awesome nights and apologies to those games I've not mentioned.

We lost against River Plate

played on a monday, Terry Nicholl scored, his only goal ?
Yep, Gary Hamson scored in 78 , I'm pretty sure that Terry Nicholl scored against Liverpool in a night game three or four years before that , I think we won 1-0 or drew 1-1 ? Remember standing on the Lane End for the Nicholl match ( very young obvs...).

The 2 games were played in the same week 2 games in 3 days

28/08/78 Monday Untied 1 Liverpool 0
30/08/78 Wednesday United 1 Riverplate 2

Managers complain these days about fixture congestion at the end of the season. Look at how many games United play in a four day period over easter in 1974. Playing Leeds at home on the Monday and then away on the Tuesday.

13 Apr 1974 Derby County v Sheffield United L 4-1 League Division One
15 Apr 1974 Leeds United v Sheffield United D 0-0 League Division One
16 Apr 1974 Sheffield United v Leeds United L 0-2 League Division One

Not sure what Alex Fergusen, Wenger or Mourino would have to say about this if it was one of their teams. saying that they did only get one point out of a possible six.

Nicholl's goal against Liverpool was in April 1974. Eddy had a penalty saved by Clemence

We all remember some of the classics under the lights at the Lane, beating leeds in the league cup stands out for me.

Just wondered if other people had other hidden gems that aren't spoken of much anymore?! I remember as a teenager seeing Paddy Kenny really wind up the forest fans on a tuesday night with a great atmosphere, think we won 1-0. He most have pretended to take about 4 dummy goal kicks to the tune of 'you f*t bastard* #lovedit

1-0 Arsenal, Jags in goal.

My second midweek match (my first was the 2-1 defeat to Swindon). Colquhoun and Reece scored with headers from Woody's corners
ASSIST - v QPR (h) 24.2.70. The first corner was a marvel of inswinging accuracy, placed to the near post where Colquhoun headed in while the Rangers defence stared in disbelief.
ASSIST - v QPR (h) 24.2.70. The second corner by Woodward was floated high to the middle, where Reece rose like a dove to head a goal which had the Lane's biggest crowd of the season singing joyfully.
