Paul the Wednesday fan tonight.

"We took 50,000 to Wembley and could have taken another 25,000. The support is massive'!

Even in the depths of depression they manage to feed their fellow supporter's delusion. It's quite admirable in a way. Nothing deters them.

Yet it takes them all their time to get 30,000 to venture inside the sty 🤣 Deludomol supplies must have arrived.

An ex used to call it moan and groan, when it was praise or grumble.

You and Tarqs are both pathetic, childish and immature beyond words. I post an intelligent normal reply, so goodness knows what makes you think what you do. I have been going to Bramall Lane since 1967.. Just ask Mick Rooker (Tim)

My grandad used to call it Grumble & grunt... Thinking back on it, he wasn't wrong

How dare you! In the modern world S6 houses the largest amount of people with learning difficulties. You shouldn't be so unkind. They just can't count.:D

The current capacity is 33,400 but they’ve rarely had over 30,000 unless there’s 4 or 5,000 away fans in the ground.

I do find it a bit weird how insecure the SW fan base are.
It’s so important for them to feel big and be liked. They gush at receiving compliments by opposition fans of big clubs. When in league 1 they had this weird habit of belittling small clubs and for some reason slagging off their fan base, joking about how they brought a mini bus full to Hillsborough.

I never hear any Blades slag off away numbers on the lower tier at the Lane because it’s not important. We get over 30K and no Blades are interested because it’s quite normal. When SW get over 30K they’ll chat about it, telling each other it would have been 40K or 50K if the ground was bigger.

They also talk about how they’ve suffered for the last 25 years, yet don’t realise Blades have suffered for 100 years since our last silverware.

We are the biggest club in Europe to have never been in a post war cup final and also never played in Europe.
We’ve also on an incredible run of failing to win our last 18 consecutive play-off finals and FA cup, league cup semi finals.
Our big match record is so bad I know a few who have decided to miss Wembley matches, tried it twice myself thinking I might be the jinx, Huddersfield and Man City.

Compare this to Wednesday who have won a few play-off finals with late winning goals and played in cup finals.

I am a supporter of a bigger club and I never give them a compliment.

Did anyone mention Chansiri tonight?

Yes of course….they rightly questioned his motivation and mental state.
A few went on about how if Sheff Wed had a proper owner they’d thrive in the PL because they are a massive club with massive potential.
One said they always take 1000’s to away matches, another said they took 50,000 (it was officially a 42,000 ticket allocation) and then said they could have sold another 20,000. He said he found it incredible how they can’t find an ambitious billionaire to buy the club off Chansiri.

It’s the usual… I was talking to a Liverpool/ Man City/ Arsenal fan and they all said they wanted Sheff Wed to be back in the top flight to re-kindle that rivalry.
Another one will reply….I was abroad in (pick a country, any country) and when I said I was from Sheffield, they all said “ah Sheffield Wednesday”
Then they explained there was a few Sheff Wed supporters clubs in (name any country).

As I said it’s weird behaviour because they are so desperate to feel “big”.
Are there any psychologists out there who can explain why the need to feel big is more important than what their team does on the pitch?

I once worked with a young colleague from near Doncaster who supported Wednesday and he was convinced SW regularly got over 40K under Atkinson.
We had a bet and I had to take a record book to prove that they hadn’t averaged 30K since the mid 60’s and honestly he was nearly crying.
Kept going on about how they are a massive club and used to fill their ground in the early 90’s. Think the Wednesday fans outside Sheffield are the worse.

Small time attitude it is... love it.

Is it true there was 50k at the recent fans forum?

Apparently, at last nights fans forum when asked how much he would sell the club for, bearing in mind that United had just sold for £100 million, he replied with "but we are bigger than them"!

It's institutional !!

Good news then. If he genuinely believes that (and being mad as a march hare he probably does) then he ain't going to sell then for anything less than probably £150m. Bearing in mind the total mess financially that they are in, then he won't be selling anytime soon and he can continue to give them the death by a thousand cuts. Slow and painful. I am very fond of that man, it has to be said. Very fond indeed.
