Someone on praise and grumble mentioned they had been dropped for disciplinary reasons, anyone got any info on this?

no went last night - these were left behind, don't really know why yet...

We really are a total shambles aren't we.
Shame we can't just sack the entire squad and start again. Definitely something very wrong at the club.

Is this just a rumour though ?Funny how no journalists were aware of this. Were the players not included , so didn't travel and simply gone out for a night out on a weekend off ?

Murphy been injured hasn't he?

United, who are also beset by problems in front of goal, will be missing the suspended Febian Brandy but Murphy could feature after overcoming a groin complaint... That was a snip from an article in the star last week....

At least they might have had some shots in a bar

Probably would have missed their own mouths.

The Jock player experiment has been a total disaster. Weve wasted what little money we did have on the likes of Flynn, Murphy & Taylor.
Time to send them packing back over Hadrians Wall.

So why were these guys not even in the match squad? Injury?

Would normally agree with you, but Taylor is English! I know he came from a team from that side.
I think it highlights what many have suspected regarding the standard of Skirtish football.....
stands back and waits for the usual claims that:
Flynn is a "tidy" footballer and Murphy is "playing out of position."
Maybe there's some truth in this, but personally I think they're both far too nesh for my liking.

Having watched my share of scottish football they didn't pick up being nesh from there.

so we can add not being able to have control over the players to other failings for Mr Weir

Yes, in fact lets just hang the bloke in the street. Based on rumour and speculation. I never realised Sheffield was actually middle ages Britain. Anyone burning any witches today? I'll be in town and fancy seeing it.

Let's assume they'd been told they hadn't made the squad and wouldn't be travelling.

A - poor decision from them to be out in town on a Friday night

B - what is Weir thinking of leaving Porter out of the squad completely? He's missed chances when he's played granted but he's been part of the little bit of good football we have played (Notts Co and 1st half at Rotherham). Would be amazed if the stats said anything other than we create a hell of lot more chances when Porter's on the pitch than when he isn't. He is the only player in the squad who is capable of playing as the lone front man in our current system. Until we change the system or until we bring someone else in, he should start every game.

Think everyone would agree on A, irrespective of how we are doing in the league.

Regards B, I wonder whether this chopping and changing relates to disciplinary issues and a power struggle between Weir and his players? It seems strange that a number of players now have started one game then been totally bombed out for the next.

Saw all three of them in the Common Room around 11ish. Spoke briefly to Murphy as they were heading out and he mentioned that they were all injured.

I also clocked Flynn confusedly hurrying around Sheffield train station on the Saturday morning just before 12. Running a bit late if he was heading to the match, or maybe talks somewhere else?

I've had a good weekend of blade-spotting, it's just a shame I don't like any of 'em.

Something seems wrong here. If they were injured, I would still expect them to go and travel with the squad and support the team. If they were told to stay behind for whatever reason, going out on the piss the night before looks shit for the club. Whatever happened, it smells of shit.

I agree that it looks shit when they're out drinking, but it's very rare that injured players travel to away games.

The team went up on Friday, the injured players will have been at Shirecliffe getting their treatment and the club will only take the 18 man squad with a couple of other players who are fit just incase. It would be a waste of expense in terms of hotel rooms, expenses and whatever else to take them.

As for Flynn at the station, maybe he was going to see his family for the night? Far, far too much is being read into this.

I didn't see any of them in Common Rooms on Saturday, but then again I couldn't see much by 11pm that evening.

Saw Flynnie at the Academy saturday morning. Given the fact that he was wearing training gear with flip flops, would assume he was nursing an injury.

There is nothing to suggest they'd be left behind for any other reason, although I believe that Porter got a reight slating after the Rotherham game.

In terms of a power struggle, if there is one, our current players have no ammunition. The vast majority [and certainly the three Galacticos named) have proved inept under several managers. They should shut up and learn to do their jobs properly as should 'Captain' Mrs. Doyle.

DW has made a poor start but he has more medals and trophies to put on the table than these numpties will ever have between them.

Read elsewhere (only on a messageboard) that it was Doyle who had slaughtered Porter. Obviously this may well be totally made up but if it isn't, it's strange that he picked on the player who the fans (who voted on here) rated as the 2nd best on our team.
