They've been trying to flog it on the phone to lapsed season ticket holders.
I think it's pretty much full price for the five games with one free chucked in. When those prices are already too high it ain't going to work.

During the most recent "why have you not renewed your ST" call they explained it was going to be a buy 5 and get the 6th game free type deal Fleety.

Fair enough, I guess the Reading freebie just covers the discount you would have had on an ST for 5 games. I suppose a 'real' flexiticket would be a 6 game package where you can pick or choose but then again that would cause a problem with a fixed seat.

This call seemed more about getting me to switch my energy to NPower rather than go all out to flog the tickets.
I was quite pleased when he responded to my reason about not renewing with "I wish I had a pound for every time I've heard that today".

You get assigned a seat which is automatically released if you don't let them know you're coming. Works out at 20 quid a game which is good enough for me :)

Sales of NRS t-shirts going well then I take it?

When I got the call, all he talked abut was nPower so I said "no thanks" and put the phone down - he never mentioned anything about this offer

I didn't buy a ST this year for the first time in nearly 30 years.

I've had no calls direct from the club to persuade me to change my mind which has surprised me a little given how desperate the club's finances seem to be.

The only call I got was one from NPower this week who made a very brief attempt to flog me a flexiticket before moving on to what seemed the main purpose of the call which was to get me to switch my power supply.

At least the call has reminded me why I need a break from United and football.

And further to this, it says on the official site that you can buy these online but I can't find the option anywhere - any clues please?

Heard that they were going to do this deal. Sounds alright to me, might get one for myself.

Excellent idea for the flexiticket, but it's no use to me as we haven't got enough home midweek games in the first half of the season for me to take advantage of it. :(

Any initiative that gives fans more options is always a winner with me. If it adds a few more to the gates then great.

As I work overseas, midweek games are always impossible for me, so being a season ticket holder my seat remains empty or a mate takes the seat... I couldn't give the bloody season ticket away last season!

So a weekend games only season ticket would work for me and save me a load of cash :)

Funnily enough I received this Phone Call, mid Mackerel Salad, very tasty.

Turned down the Flexi Ticket, Turned down buying their lecky, Turned down the Hand Made Vuvuzela ( actually Branded by the Blades as a VuvuzEllis, cos everyone hates em ) - I asked about the NRS T-Shirts and he hung up, pah ! no ambition

Them: Hello, how are you today?

Me: Hello.

Them: Erm... you've recently renewed your season ticket. I'm calling from Npower on behalf of SUFC...

Me: That's quite interesting because I've asked Npower to remove me from their marketing database after a run-in I had with them.

Them: Well this is Sheffield United's database. Do you mind if I asked you what happened?

Me: Yes, I had to forcibly remove one of Npower's salesmen from my doorstep and had a lengthy argument with Npower as to why this should not have been the case.

Them: Oh... erm. You won't be interested then?

Me: No, thanks love.

Them: We'll just remove your details then.

Me: Much obliged. Bye.

Added the phone number to the thread title to make it easier for Google to find.

I'm not impressed on getting a call from Npower through the Sheffield United database. I'm on the Sheffield United database primarily for football related matters and not on the database for the club to use my personal details to make money by passing them on to third parties who will ring me up, and pester me to use their services.

I'm minded to send an e-mail to the club for misusing my personal details that i have given them.
