Miserable, miserable 0-3 defeat to Crewe which left most of us thinking we were destined for League 2.

What followed were 10 wins on the bounce beyond our wildest dreams including 3 wins against higher division opposition.

Whatever was said after that Crewe match needs to have been repeated last night. A total clear the air, frank, no holds barred inquest.

The team that day included Brayford, Flynn, Baxter, Scougall, Murphy & Harris

Doyle, Howard and Kennedy were on the scene also, so the nucleus of the current squad is still present.

Let last night be a watershed and let's smash everyone from now until we lift that play off trophy at Wembley!!

Tbh I agree with the basic sentiment but I don't know if the moment's passed.

Thing is it was the same after Fleetwood. (And others.) That really should have been a Never Again moment.

Maybe you can only have so many wake up calls before the message becomes stale.

Alternatively, ultimatums, tub-thumping, rallying cries are not part of his style.

It's puzzling that a team can play with verve and commitment one week, or one half at any rate, then apparent indifference the next.

I think you can have only so many never again moments before it all becomes a bit groundhog day.

1st Feb is my Birthday and on this day I was down in the smoke, watching some pretentious street act in Convent Garden with 2 fed-up kids whilst the Missus looked in shop after shop of the same tatty crap, checking my phone for the score to see we had gone 2, then 3-0 down. It was supposed to be my birthday "treat" and to be fair the Wembley tour earlier in the day had been great but now me and the boys were fed up, cold and mightily pissed off as we slumped to an embarrassing defeat...............
...............here we are, 14 months on and whilst I am a year older nowt has really changed for the positive as far as the mighty SUFC are concerned.......MEH!

We could repost this just about every alternate week of the season.

I think we are all hanging on to the hope that the players go into the play offs with the same aproach they have in big cup games

So basically we are relying on it mattering to them ,because when it matters to us doesnt seem top priority

We've got more watersheds than Splashword, Sandcastle and Alton Towers put together this season.

Could it be down to commitment , mental strength or quite simply the players are not enjoying there football any more , so the feeling of tiredness / lethargic kicks in . A winning , happy side cant wait to turn out , and tiredness and injuries seem to disappear.

We will see more and more injuries , and players not knowing if they are coming and going . All a bit mis mash to me.

If we don't go up this season, Jim Phipps and the Board need to draw a line under the whole sorry Nigel Clough era.

Appoint someone with experience of getting teams out off this shit league playing any kind of football except the current sidewards, backwards dross and start again.

It's costing HRH £15m a year keeping the club at this level and he isn't going to continue to do so forever, another season at this level and he might as well have spent £30m in one go like the fish man in S6.

Sadly I feel the only way that the board will be motivated to do anything is when the crowds drop next season and the club's revenue stream is hit.

I know what you mean, LBofE, but last night was one of 'those' games that will be long remembered - just like the 0-3 Crewe game.

As stated, we recovered from the Crewe game with a phenominal run, something I can't see us repeating this time around. In fact, the only certainty in the last 14+ months is that very little has changed and no real progress has been made.

We've spluttered into the play offs got there by default(just about anyway)

We will just about win the play offs its what comes when after we go up that worries me:eek:

its never about losing a game , its about the reaction to it

we are playing Bradford on saturday who will be bristling with confidence after kicking bristol citys butts

Bradford will fight like mad on Saturday after the debacle of the other night.
That in itself will be enough for them against our lot

Bradford may set up to ensure they don't concede another 6, that's not setting it up as a great game for us. Please prove me wrong Blades (you are so very good at it).

WIth so many bad defeats, it becomes harder to react. You're playing Bradford down as though it's a forgone conclusion... yet if we don't win you will be on here telling people not to over react if don't win.
