Fixture amendments

I think this excludes the regular Tuesday night live games as well (the midweek ones mentioned here are fixture changes only). By my reckoning all of our November fixtures will be on Sky.

i don't know what EFL were thinking when did they this deal. apart from piss off every match going fan who will now get messed around by Sky Sports 20 times a yr
They've announced every fixture change until January. That's pretty good really.

Edit: I'd have thought...? As a south coast dweller I can't get to many matches unfortunately (incredibly grateful for streaming etc).

Every midweek game has been in red button for some time in the championship it's just there's more weekend games now being moved.

that is good. but i still rather Saturday 3pm. as it is the perfect time for football & we are seeing the death of it

They have given plenty of notice and I suspect there are many fans who don’t travel to away games who can now watch away matches on Sky and be pleased.

Yep, they'll have us all eventually stopping at home and watching it on the box, empty stadiums on the horizon!!

I don’t think so: there will always be fans who prefer to watch home games live and a smaller number who enjoy the day out to away games.
Since Sky got involved there is no evidence that crowds are smaller, indeed the opposite is the case.

In the States the major sports leagues have an agreement to not broadcast home TV matches in a team's catchment area unless they sell out 80%? of their seats.

That wouldn't affect us if we played owt like last season...

i dont care if ive got 18 months notice. give me saturday 3pm over any other time

Oxford on Tuesday night and Sunderland on Friday night in the same week isn't ideal

You’re kidding aren’t you?
Why? The last two times we’ve played them it’s been a Friday night. Far easier to police when it’s just effectively half a day, versus a full day on a Saturday.

There’s trouble every time we play them if that’s what you’re referring to. Actually, the last time we did play them on Saturday, a group of pig fans were taking liberties on Shoreham Street one minute to kick off.

People will be out on the Saturday from whenever the pubs open until they close. Friday it’s at most, lunch to closing time. Far fewer people will do the bulk of this too, due to work.

I’d be in Wetherspoons at 8am on the Friday along with many others 😂 love the build up to a derby game much more than the game itself!

I’m sure there will, but they’ll be far fewer doing it than on a Saturday.

last season Sky paid £100k for televised matches and that’s going up this season, if we feature 30 times could be knocking on £5m, plus increased revenue from sponsors receiving global coverage and exposure of the club

Some will be put out, some (distant fans) will benefit

Ultimately we crave new signings, better players on bigger wages, moneys coming from somewhere - modern game

But ultimately the modern game is for the money men and not the working or the supporting men. IMO that is for the worse and not the better.

I'll benefit but tbh if the money is just going into the players pockets and out the game the clubs and the sport itself won't.
