Given our (documented, on here) lack of pace at the moment, I have been thinking about our quickest players over the last couple of decades. Here's my 'fastest' Blades XI, although I'm sure that I'll have missed a few.

Bunn
Walker Pemberton Kilgallon Barnes
Carr (F) Jagielka Scott (A)
Shelton Littlejohn Campbell
I struggled a bit for the centre midfield and left side of defence, but can't think of anyone else. I also guessed at the keepers' pace, as it's quite hard to judge. Quite honestly, I picked Bunn because he looks as though he ought to be fast.

Lee Morris and Colin Morris spring to mind.
"Crazy Legs" Claude Davis was fast once he got into his stride although he couldn't always stop at the right time.
Oliver Tebily likewise. Brian Smith was another quick defender. Paul Smith his brother a quick attacker.

John Francis was quick. We used to call him 'shit, but fast'. An affectionate knickname passed on through the years to several headless chickens in the red and white stripes.

If I remember correctly Colin Franks won some sort of fottballers' sprinting competition when he was at Watford.

To be fair, a lot of the headless chickens would be better described as "shit and slow" ;)

Andy Campbell would be the biggest cert ever for 100m Gold in the Gingerlympics.

Knaughton, Colin kazim-Richards , peter Ndlovu, Christian Nade when he got going, Jamie ward is pretty quick, David cotterill, god we are missing some pace and creativity

Wayne allison, Iffy Onhoura, Chris Morgan, Rob page. . . . . . . . . . .oh , i may have missed the point somewhat !

Jonathon Forte was realy quick. I wonder what happened to him?

Judging by the way he played against us, he has not slowed any but has more skill on the ball.

Edwards was no slouch, but i seem to remember about colin franks as well winning Some sprint!
