I ve just returned from a very enjoyable 3 weeks touring France.During my second week I was in a very pleasant but backwater coastal town in the Vandee called St Jean de Monts. Hardly the hight of touristville but still very nice with a modecum of bars and nightlife. I happened to notice a small sports bar just off the market square. The weather being decidedly warm and my throat being accordingly parched i decided to partake in a glass of the local brew.
On entry to the bar I noticed that scarves from many european football clubs adorned the walls and ceiling. The usual Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal, Barca, Real Madrid etc were there along with the likes of Peterbro and Millwall. I began looking for the one that really matters and by my second beer was disappointed not to find a Blades scarf. It was only as I finished my third and turned to face the door that my disappointment was lifted and a smile came to my face. There in all its glory right over the entrance in pride of postion was a very large Blades Pendant. I was not the only Blade to pass this way.
This got me thinking. St Jean De Monts whilst not exactly off the beaten track its hardly a mecca for tourists. There are far more seasoned travellers than me on this board. Posters who travel to some really out of the way places. I just wondered where are some of the most far flung spots you might have seen some Blades memorabelia. Or when you ve been in a remote spot and bumped into fellow Blades????
