FA Youth Cup Weds 15 Jan

I'll start this thread early. In case people can juggle things & make arrangements & get pubs open, etc. Our U18s play their 4th Round FA Youth Cup tie v Fulham on Wednesday 15 Jan at Bramall Lane 7pm. As it's the Cup it's all pay £3 Adults £1 Concessions. The winners will be away to Manchester City or Aston Villa (who play the same night). Category 1 Academy Fulham will be a real tough test for the Category 2 Blades. Fulham are currently second in U18 Premier League South, behind Chelsea. Fulham have only lost one in 12 at U18 this year. They're effectively 4th ranked in the country behind Chelsea, Man City & Liverpool.
Get yourselves down on Wednesday if you can. It'll be a great night.....

Good evening to the Night Shift. And all the Oooohhhh Funny Name merchants who seem to stalk my threads. I've rushed the Blog out after a superb game which seemed to have everything. Red Card. Two nil down. Off the ball arm in the face. Vendetta. Reshuffle. Reshape. Chuck the Subs on. Fightback. Keeper up. Deflected goal. Unusual in defeat. But some real heroes out there. Poor sods aren't even old enough to drink. So, I've even had to sup their beers for them. All here if you're interested.

Geary seems upbeat on the performance. The red card, on the highlights shown here, looks a little harsh on first viewing. It’s “one of those” where if he doesn’t get there then the balls been lost in an area they can build from. Having not seen a lot at that level though, not sure if this sort of borderline challenge is more often given a red at youth level.

Generally, there's a bit less chucking yourself to the floor at U18 level, and a bit more honesty. They're usually reffed in the "let things go" manner. But, I think you can see why he's flashed the card out. Having thought about it .... a lot ..... I think it's an OK decision
