it was doncaster in the county cup

We beat Barnsley 9-0 in the county Cup (I was there!)

I think it was 9-0, but that might have been another occasion.

There was no 8-0 thrashing in the early' 80's.

We did beat Barnsley 9-0 in the CC in 1969.

it may have been mid 80s. i remember erm 7-2 or something, i think peter duffield got 3 or 4. think that was the zenith doodahs. but im not on about that one. it was before those days.

id forgot that even existed. ive just remembered the zenith data systems cup now. was that the one we played the grunters in at the sty? answers on a postcard who zenith data systems are, and if they still exist.

Yes that was the one, SYP were shitting bricks as we were the first fans to go on that end since the disaster, that and thousands of Blades had tickets in the home stands. Never been to the sty since, hate the place.

That would be the semi in 79-80. We beat Donny 6-1 at the Lane and then beat Wednesday in the final 2-1 at Hillsborough a few dates later. That was Sabella's last game and the source of the aporcryphal story of Pedro Verde being told he could take the cup home and him doing so.

The 7-2 game was v Oldham in the ZDS cup on 11/12/90. We went 2 down early on but came back with goals from Bryson 2, Hoyland, Beesley, Deane and Duffield 2. That 7 goals equalled the number we had scored in our 15 league games thus far.

I like the idea of a day out, somewhere different, not too far to travel. Somewhere with good local ales, perhaps a non league team.

For a laugh Metropolitan Police Away with United fans dressed up as plods (or Jimmy Saville!! - oops perhaps not).

Personally I'd like to see Workington (A) always felt sorry for them when they got kicked out of the league or for historical reasons Bradford PA. Ah the nostalgia of it all!

I'm gutted, Met Police beat Dereham 2-0 last night in a replay, Dereham is half an hour from mine, us Norfolk based Blades could have had a field day!
