Better get him sold to Liverpool for £20M then:thumbup:

"...has forced Blackwell to abandon the development programme he had devised to sharpen Evans' skills."
I love it, pure comedy.

"Rather than being gently introduced to the demands of England's second tier - a tactic which worked wonders for Jamie Ward - the Denbighshire-born marksman has instead been thrown straight in at the deep end."
I seem to remember Ward being thrown in pretty much straight away and making an impact straight away.

Straight in at the deep end against the combined might of all the wonderfully organised defences you get at our level.

It is comedy and you have to laugh I suppose but I'm afraid that with Blades Realty likely to be going down the pan (purely my opinion) it is far from amusing. In fairness, if things were as serious as that no way would we have signed him in the first place - although things do happen quickly if bank changes it policies for example on property backed loans.

Blades Realty?

Yes - do you mean to say you don't read my stuff!!??

Basically it is a company that SUFC owns 50% of and it has, as far as I can tell, a huge bank overdraft as at Feb 2008 (last accounts to be submitted) and a stock of property developments as assets.

I can assure you Mickey yours are the first posts I look for...

Huge overdraft and declining asset values eh?.......Sounds a bit ominous if you're correct. What are the implications for the financing of the Football club?

Blades Realty 5 Year P&L - Reads more like a property company that has scaled back in the teeth of hard times in the market rather than something about to turn up its toes any minute. The credit scoring of very good seems to reflect this.

wouldnt it be easier to just scan and post on here the back of the fag packet you worked that out on ?

Fair enough re credit scoring (any company backed by BDTBL would have a good credit rating!!!) but you want to be looking at the balance sheet rather than the P&L.

Judge - I have admitted elsewhere that I have lost all respect for McCabe since the Beattie interview and said my views are clouded by that loss of respect.

Even so, I don't get your fag packet comment because I have always said that I am probably barking up the wrong tree. Seriously though, I am not being outrageous to suggest there might be a possible problem with the asset value of the this company in today's market.

quite possibly but this time next year it could be the exact opposite
from what i can gather we dont really have anything to be concerned about other than the team playing poorly and desperate for form but that too could soon turn round

Tell you what is interesting - comparing those stats with Rockett's comments in the June 2008 plc accounts re Realty. Rockett says 'since March 2005 Sheffield United has achieved a return of £5.3m before interest and taxation.'

In fairness, I do think the asset base is designed to generate rental income instead of property sales so again, I am perhaps barking up the wrong tree as asset values will not matter as much although still very serious if dropping. Mind you I am surprised that the accounts show the assets as stock and not as fixed assets if that is the case - not that it matters a great deal.
