I am now sick of hearing from NA about our unit, hard work, grit, never giving in, working for each other, great bunch of lads, giving everything, and more, surely we should expect this from everybody as at least a minimum can you imagine a manager saying no grit, nobody works for each other etc etc, getting fucking boring in his after match analysis when have you ever heard NA speak of skill, pace and positively, am I being unfair? Does he agree with my comments but cannot s ay? I am a person who doesn't find fault for faults sake, I try to be positive but even I am getting bored to going to the game, but of course I will, even decided tonight to go to Rochdale game away, must be the ale!

Has to support the players in public. It's his management style and it's generally the best way to get the best out of people. If your people aren't the best then you're struggling - and that might be more of an issue for us.

He has occasionally mentioned skill, in particular in relation to Coutts.

There is often a loud cry from the fans along the lines of If they're working hard that's what matters, I think they are working very hard - but it turns out other stuff matters as well.

Doesn't speak about pace for one very good reason...

It's poor form for a manager to go public and douse this team in petrol and set fire to them.

Nearly twenty thousand people saw what an abject outfit we have now as a first team and the last thing that is needed is for the players to hear NA smacking nails into Sheffield United's coffin lid whereby critics (such as I) can make the most of it. I'm with Adkins here. No doubt he's thinking "What a useless shower of shits. Why did I come here?" but he knows if he does one bad interview, he'll be in McCabe's office first thing Monday morning.

I think NA is also beyond thrashing them on the training ground also. As the team is, it lacks footballing ability at this level. You can't develop that beyond a set level of ability, which is why they have found their way into our team and remain there. It's also why we don't have any talent either. Battering them in training and depleting their self-belief and morale will do no good. It's a case of 'make do', which I believe was Adkins brief on day one.

It will also be interesting to see what this much vaunted close-season clear out entails. The way it is, we are going to have to show some really attractive packages and contracts to bring players to fill these expected exits.

Common denominators.

His interviews are getting tiresome and its usually near the end of them where he actually says anything of note.

Although Warnock's "We've got a great bunch of lads" interviews wore thin in the end.

If we're outworking the opposition (which is a debatable if) and not winning then Nigel needs to see there's a flipping big issue. Given the calibre of some of our players.

If I hear Bumble say that again, I swear I'm going to put my foot through the radio. He reminds me of a soft teacher who can't control his class and tries to hide it by putting it down to exuberance. I bet most on here would be hard working and enthusiastic if we got picked to play but we'd still be shit. Endeavour and hard work alone will get you absolutely nowhere, as is being demonstrated. Truth is, this club is like a rudderless ship, floating along wherever the tide takes it.. There's no leadership from the board, none from the manager or coaches and there's certainly none on the pitch.

Pompey , take the loan players out of the equation , agree.

The loan players make the differance between failure and success. Adkins and his staff have to be responsible for the loan players perhaps not being good enough to improve the quality needed for a promotion team . Our loans to date are more akin to prevent relegation more than gain promotion.

A lot of common denominators and self inflicted issues

Let's hope Adkins is good enough to sort it.

Walking out of the ground today, nearly every man to a tee was talking about tactics and subs not surprisingly. I did hear one person say, he just needs to let them play. We have some talented players, so what does he need to do to them to let them all play.

A squad with Sharp, Adams, Done, Baxter, coutts, Reed, he may have a point.

My main point is he never really talks about what a good footballing team we are, its always about hard work etc, I think we have better players than the team I am constantly getting bored with watching, I reckon our players are better, time to be more positive and have some confidence in his players, other manager's seem to come to the lane and play open, attacking football andoften look better than us, why are we so negative?

I think that's a truly dreadful idea. It's playing tight that's worked for us, even if it is ugly. Ditch Collins and get some legs in midfield, then I'm all for it.

Until then, keep grinding it out.
