D9E3221E-2675-425A-AEBC-AC956596D051.png Nice article this morning in the Telegraph sports section on the Duff meister and his journey from Liverpool academy to scaffolding job then his fight back to rise through non league football to joining the mighty Blades.
Clearly very grateful for his ‘second chance’ at top level football.
One comment he makes ‘ when you are at a good club you have to work hard to stay there’ clearly a reference to his time at BDTBL and derived from his tough journey rising through the ranks. An example to some players of the way to go unlike some eg Jordan Slew
Top player and comes across as a top bloke
Article made even better as it shares a page with report on the snort beasts loss to Middlesbrough at the Theatre of Rust :D

Cheers EMB, good read - enforces the hard work and determination of both player and club

Forever.

He was there from age 7 to 16, but just imagine Duffy getting a world-class winner against his boyhood club Liverpool next season (yes, I dare to believe).
I dont think he is the type to seek hateful revenge , lets just have him score a world class winner , against Man Utd instead .

Absolutely love the kid and what he has brought to us since he arrived. Almost felt a bit teary reading that as well, what a terrific example to young people, well all of us really. Life deals us blows how we deal with them back that defines us, or something like that anyway....

Just to add that I started taking my young daughter of 6 to the Lane this season, in addition to my son. During the first match [Preston] and with absolutely no pre-empting I asked her who her favourite player was.
'Him, with the blonde hair' she said pointing at the Duffmeister as he picked up the ball on the touchline.
'Why' I asked...
'Because he is better than everybody else', she replied.

Good lass, she hasn't changed her mind yet! :)

I went to the Preston game with a Spanish friend who supports Second level team Sporting Gijon. (They play in red and white too) . Watched Duffy for ten minutes and said - "I'll take him".

Wow what a grounding article. I think many pros who have their wages on a platter could take a leaf out of Duffy's book. You have to experience the lows to relish and appreciate the highs. What a guy. Had no idea he's on his way to coaching qualifications either so fucking kudos even more to the guy.

Future blades manager?
