Apparently the 'little niggle' he had when he signed may be worse than we thought, almost certain to miss tomorrow at Gills and maybe a couple of weeks a away from being available...

...going well all of a sudden isn't it? :(

Won't play tomorrow, will play Tuesday.

More mind games? Said that higdon wouldn't play for six to eight weeks when he signed, started first game of season

Who is he playing mind games with or against? And what is the point of it? I'm struggling to see that's all mate where the benefit is.

Yeah everyone in the squad is crippled.

Tell Gillingham that the tea lady is starting upfront for us tomorrow.

Can someone please tell me what a medical entails at Bramall Lane?

Gillingham think he's then not playing and plan accordingly, then an hour before kick off hes on the team sheet and shit, gameplan out of window. Obviously they will still have a plan but it won't be as practiced I imagine

Being able to limp through the doors of Bramall Lane seems to be enough.

We have signed some really injury prone players before. Why should that stop now?

I shouldn't imagine Gillingham have a major gameplan for Done playing for us as he has never played for us before and we have other influencing players on the pitch.Andy Hesenthaler will not have a clue where he's going to play even if he plays or not but i could be wrong.Even our own fans never get a teamsheet correct:)

Flashback to John ebrell. Then again least we got 45mins out of him ;)

Didn't we have to still pay wages too

Aye you are right there.

Sheffield United to pick up Simon Walton's wages

Walton was injured during his first appearance for the Blades
Sheffield United have confirmed they will pay the wages of injured midfielder Simon Walton who is on a season-long loan from Plymouth Argyle.

The 22-year-old, who only moved to Bramall Lane last week, suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury during a friendly against Mansfield.

Blades boss Kevin Blackwell said: "It's a massive blow to the lad, missing a whole campaign.

"He is contracted to us for this season so we are responsible for his wages."

"Right now the important issue is to sort out details of his rehabilitation," he continued.

Although Walton will not play for United this term, the Yorkshire side have said they may consider renewing their interest after he recovers from injury.

Blackwell told the club website: "We have spoken to him although at the moment there is no consoling him, but he is young enough to come back from and and we won't dismiss him."

For me the management's top priority is the results of the team. Sometimes this means they might not always be shining beacons of honesty and impartiality in their public announcements.

To be fair to them they spend a good amount of their time communicating with the fans but, maybe, sometimes there's no point revealing the squad till you need to?

Pulling the wool over their eyes with a cloak and dagger.

Or maybe he's injured.

why all these cynical quips he has a slight injury and should be fit for colchester from done,s interview on audioboom.
Just because he hass a slight knock does that mean we should have missed out on our deadline day signing? that would have been stupid. As for john ebbral he would have been a great signing at the time but he got an infection in his ankle ( a rare complication) which finished his career very unfortunate for him and the club.

The point i was trying to make is what are they gaining by telling the fans he's injured if he isn't? The opposition manager will always try to plan for different scenarios anyway so it makes no odds to him,or so he should do.Hesenthaler may think he's injured but will always have something up his sleeve just incase something unorthodox happens in a situation like this.

Anyway i don't think he is playing mind games and we have bought yet another injured player.Lets hope it's not too long,i'm looking forward to seeing him play.

Not a dig at the club and I'm not knocking the signing. Just funny how these things happen to us.

Ebrall was a quality signing, looked class in his brief appearance and I believe that season could have ended differently if we hadn't lost him through injury. I think the same about Dane's injury, he was on fire that season and we badly missed him

Listening to the JTW closing on Raio5 it was said that these late late transfers the medical are taken on trust of the releasing teams medics. Clearly there's no time for the new club to actually undertake a medical which takes several hours.

I seem to recall some idiot paying £35 million for a crocked Geordie donkey right at the death?

I guess the best and most successful managers don't do an 'out of the blue' signing until the last minute.
That way medicals already have taken place.

So he may have a niggle. That doesn't mean he'll fail a medical does it.

He's a player that we wanted to sign and obviously weren't going to not sign him because he might have pulled a muscle. A broken leg or ligament damage would be different

Pointless signing Dove .

I think we have to give the bloke a chance , and lets see what he brings to the team. Barnsley fans think he was Keith Hills love child and didn't really rate him. Rochdale fans however hold him in high regard. Bit of a mixed bag from a fans point of view but imo , i think he will add pace and aggression , which is what we are missing.,

Its getting the blend and selection right for the rest of the season that concerns me . We just ain't got the time for experimentation , with the new players having to hit the ground running.

It was a serious question mate as i haven't got a clue what you can get away with regarding injuries when having a medical.I don't know how bad his injury is,i just find it strange that we've signed quite a few injured players over the years.I've put somewhere that i'm looking forward to seeing the lad,his attributes have me eagerly awaiting his first appearance for us.
