I know this goes against the whole "open lines of communication" malarky, but am I alone in thinking that, until they have the staff to manage it properly, the ability for people to post on the Official club Facebook page should be revoked?

Basically, it is solely used by fucking idiots.

And by proxy, it reflects badly on the rest of us when these semi-literate imbeciles are allowed to spout off, unchallenged by anyone responsible for the page.

The internet let's them think they're billy big bollocks, gobbing off. Either stem the problem by removing the problem, or manage the page and start showing the little sods up.

I have to agree....I very nearly commented back to the article about pyrotechnics. But then realised it would lower me to their level, and i'd be in for a load more abuse like I got on twitter, so I didn't bother!

Doesn't disabling comments go against the entire reason for having an SUFC social media page?

We have a website so the point of the Facebook page is to allow interaction.

Wouldn't it just be better to delete the Facebook page?

But there is no interaction if no one from the club actually reads (and moderates) what's put on there, surely?

They have deleted posts in the past - usually ones that are either offensive, which is fair enough, or mildly critical, which seems to be rather petty.
