Apologies if this has already been posted...

Anyone giving today’s O’Rourke bullshit any ounce of credence would be better served reading this piece as a refresher of McGoldrick’s value and Wilder’s recognition of it. Wonderful read.

The support that the fans give to McGoldrick is fantastic and how it should be but is in many ways old school as it is rare for players or managers to get such patience from their fans. Of course I expect nothing less from us Blades as we don't forget what he has done for us already and acknowledge what he continues to bring to the team.

In many ways it is reminiscent of the support that the fans gave to the team back in the 90's when we didn't win a game on our return to the top division until Christmas. I don't recall any criticism of the team or Bassett whatsoever and the joy and relief that erupted when we won that first game vs Forest was jaw dropping.

I said a few weeks back that he's contender for player of the year, even though he hasn't, and might not, score a goal this season. The run he made against Man U to drag Maguire away and let Mousset run on to Fleck's pass sticks out. He knows he should do better. He knows he can. As long as his head doesn't drop he'll come good.

Cracking player and crucial to the way we play.

When that goal does come, it will spark an avalanche! I can see him getting 2 or 3 in the same match. It will be cathartic as lancing a boil and the goals will flow like pus.

He scores tonight, late winner against west ham, no better time to do it

'I expect nothing less from us Blades' - On a similar note, I've always been impressed with our attitude towards returning players, usually a round of applause or a cheer, or even a standing ovation if they were especially popular! Only those who leave under a cloud or latterly slag us off (Che Adams) get any abuse.

It's a nice contrast to some teams, tonight's opponents have that reputation, perhaps unfairly, who seem to treat every departure as a personal affront.

Sir Oooooh Ahhhhh, was the same, at first everyone thought what the ferkle have we signed here. After a few games the fans were on his back, then he had a heart to heart with Mick Rooker I think who said "don't hide, you might not be the most skillfull, but give one hundred percent commitment and endeaveor and they will back you". The rest is history. No disrespect to Sir Bob here, The didzmeister is more skillfull and a better player but when he does score his first (var ferk off) the celebrations by the fans...well just watch out for ta kidneys.....
