It was certainly the strangest crowd reaction to an equaliser in a league match at Bramall Lane I've ever seen.

The majority of the people around me at the back of the Kop didn't even bother to stand up and neither did I. Everybody just sort of looked at each other in an embarrassed kind of smile.

Somehow the thought of even standing up and clapping seemed ridiculous.

Why? Because it was King?
I didn't celebrate but only because I can't bring myself to given the current situation.

Like i'd just got a text off Scarlet Johansson asking me if i want a threesome with her and Rachel Riley, then realising i've run out of Viagra.

Not because it was King, I like King.

Just because of our current situation.

I would have celebrated if I was there, its our first goal for a month for goodness sake!
no matter how bad it gets I will always celebrate an equalising goal for the blades.

As posted elsewhere, I didn't stand up because I was bored rigid. Nothing to do with King scoring.

UTB

I stood and applauded as it a was a fabulously worked goal. But it had an overwhelming feel of monkeys and typewriters about it.

Funnily enough, I thought it was wildly celebrated, like 'Thank god, we've scored a goal at last'

Does he wear a SUFC shirt? Yes.

Did I celebrate because we equalised? Yes

Is this a ridiculous thread? Yes

Not true, half of us did, half of them couldn't be arsed to get up. Not because of Marlon King, because they were fucking embarrassed to celebrate

Not sure what you're getting at. I thought all 3 of my points were valid. Your first sentence makes no sense in relation to my commebt

your third question, becaus quite a lot of people didn't celebrate and not because of King. It's a valid thread

Aah right. Everybody round me cheered so I felt it was pretty pointless. The day I don't celebrate a SUFC goal is the day I die.

Surely not strictly true. When you are losing 4-0 and score in time added on, you don't exactly shout and scream do you? Do you? Mind you at the moment that is very obviously a hypothetical question. :)

I don't mean to single you out, but I think your comment shows how far we've come. 2 passes in midfield, a simple through ball, simple finish and it's a fabulously worked goal.

New low.

Sort of agree with this. There was definitely a sense of "Yes, thank fuck we've scored" about it but it still had a bit of "Oh yay we've scored, I can't be fucking bothered".

Me, I merely stood up and fist pumped the air.

I did cheer, I know what he has done etc but at the end of the day when I'm at the football all I am thinking about for those 90 mins is Sheffield United. It doesn't come into my mind what Marlon King or anybody else for that matter has done before. The simple fact is if I see a Sheff Utd goal (which is beoming increasingly rare) I will cheer.

I would make him captain.

He the only one that gives a shit at the minute.

I would have celebrated (had I been there) because I always celebrate a Blades goal. But every time I do I turn to someone and ask "Who scored?". For some reason I have trouble focusing on individual players and watch for the shape and movement of the team.

So as I said, yes I would have celebrated but when I found out it was Marlon King I would have felt like a bell-end for celebrating a goal by that cunt.
