Did Fleck Dive?

Sorry for having a different opinion.

I just fucking hate diving.

If the team were doing badly I could understand anyone being a bit negative but since we started doing well and are having a bit of success you don't have good word to say about us it must be really hurting you that we are doing well. Not only me is it though that has picked up on this and called you a pig.

No penalty. Fleck exaggerated his fall to fool the referee into thinking there was more contact than there was. That is simulation, and a foul. All the trailing leg/contact stuff goes out of contention because Fleck commited a foul. No penalty, indirect free kick to the defending team. Next.
should have gone to specsavers, it was a penalty. billy scored and we won end of story.

You must have missed the dozen or so posts I made yesterday praising Billy Sharp, Wilder and the team on a fantastic performance and result.

I assume you're referencing our Stevie G there mate, but I don't agree.
Our Stevie G wasn't an over rated scouser. A cheating, slimeball of a scouser yes, but he was a good player......sadly!

Apparently Liverpool fans rated him...
Most times I saw him he was playing for england, where he was in the team on reputation not what he was actually contributing.

One of the many English players who were by far a better player for their club than they were their country.

Oh come on Pete, that Sharp shot could have gone anywhere !!!!!
and Fleck dived so how can Wilder claim any credit from that ?........

Fleck didn't dive there was clear contact. Leeds player lunges at him then pulls leg back but still catches him. Fleck was going at speed. All of us on the Kop behind the goal saw this clearly.

For a lesson in how to dive and con the referee see the championship master James Maddison at work for Norwichs first pen which they justifiably missed in the attached. That boy James can really dive. Think he was perfecting the reverse belly flop. Rowett called him out after the game.

If their no 10 had been presented with a legging over such as this he would have ended up in the Kop.

The defender reacts too late to the pass, probably expecting it's just a run to split the wall, and that puts him in an awful position when Fleck gets to the ball first. He obviously realises he's in no man's land and tries to pull out of the tackle too late.

Here's the problem, yes, he doesn't make much contact, but it doesn't take a lot of contact to trip someone while they're sprinting, and there is absolutely nothing in the rules about being allowed to make a little bit of contact while getting nowhere near the ball as long as you're in the box. And there is nothing in the rules that prevents you from drawing a foul from an opponent. The defender doesn't play the ball, and he isn't in playing distance of the ball, and he blocks Fleck's run. Whether Fleck played for it or not, that's a foul.

First instinct from the South Stand was dive, everyone around me (and me) was laughing there heads off because it was against the Leeds scum.

Having seen the replay, there was contact and I did feel he kind of left himself there to be hit, like what happens up and down the country. We got the decision but it could just as easily of been a yellow for diving. It was a clumsy challenge and to be honest one that whatever the ref gave would have sparked a debate.

Actually thought Leon should have had a penalty more than Fleck. Not seen a replay of that though, but the ref gave a corner so must have seen the defender play the ball.

Penalty on the Leeds No.10 Alioski in the first half ? Definitely not ! haha
