Is this a genuine question or a wind up as I really can't tell?

The BBD we had in The Prem was great as we played on the counter attack which suits him down to the ground.

The BBD we had 2 seasons ago was pretty bang average albeit I'll concede that our genius manager pretty much played him out of position in that spell.

The barometer should be how did he do at Derby last season? A team which shouldn't even be in the same conversation as us for where we want to be and the answer is absolutely bang average.

Exactly

If you look at his career overall he’s been pretty average. Perennial underachiever really.

On his day pretty talented but never consistent.

He’s had a couple of hot streaks in his career and then the rest of the time he’s fairly ineffective and ‘meh’

We need to move on from this obsession with everyone whose ever played for us before

It would be a no from me but to play devils advocate would he automatically be worse than an inexperienced kid from Brentford or Dobbins ???

I'll play devils advocate as well for a minute.

If, big if, Wilder sees us being poorer this season due to the loss of parachute payments, squad make up etc and feels like we'll have to play on the counter attack in quite a lot of games and see's BBD playing on the left of the 3 behind Bamford then I could just about get on board with this signing.

If he signs him and then plays him down the right then genuinely I reckon all the "Wilder haters" will have a reason to moan.

He's a bit of a one trick pony. I'd love to see what % of his goals come from a cut in from the left and a shot across the keeper.

If you know he is going to do that, a good defender should be able to nulify him quite quickly.

Also bonkers how much we played him on the right hand side where he was so ineffective.

7 goals and 3 assists which would have put him 4th for goal contributions for us behind the following:

Hamer 7 & 13 (goals & assists)
O'Hare 8 & 8
Bamford 13 & 1

Dobbin is a great signing if we get him. He was at Preston last season and scored 10 goals with 8 assists.

Donovan, who knows.

I suspect BBD may have had his day as a top Championship attacker. He was bad in last loan, whether played out of position or not.

Also not regularly available for selection.

It's a no from me, unless we're relatively desperate, i.e. barely have a budget, and know we can't get anyone good.

Good signing.

If we can get him and Choudhry in, the International Blades brand becomes massive. social media posts flooded with Chilean and Bangladeshi flags, overseas academies bringing the best and brightest talent into South Yorkshire. sales for SUTV matches sky rocket, money floods into the club, all is well with the world.
