Me personally have seen him play enough at youth level to see that the lad has talent. What i can't agree with you on is that just because Cloughy doesn't play him, doesn't mean he isn't good enough to play for us,managers CAN be wrong just like us fans can be.For me though the lad will play at a higher level than this very soon indeed and iv'e never said that about any of our young uns on here before.I'm not saying they've had a fallout but it does seem clear to me that he's not Cloughy's cup of tea tbh.The point is, if the manager thinks he is good enough he will play. If he is not, he will be on his way. You could ask that any of the U21's are given a chance in the 1st team to see if they are good enough but it doesn't work like that. Hopefully DG will develop at York as force his way into the team if he is good enough.
Has anyone really questioned his ability or are fans just giving an opinion on what they have seen at 1st team level so far ? There is questioning about all the hype surrounding the lad and whether it is justified. The only person who can judge this(rightly or wrongly) is the manager.
Why would we keep him if he isn't good enough ?
Has anyone got a clip of this supposed dive he took on Saturday, would be very grateful, thanks in advance.
I spoke to someone about it who went and he said it could have quite easily been a spot kick because there was contact,he also said like you that he could have propably stayed on his feet, but at 0-0,and although i don't like it,what would a very high percentage of footballers do?I doubt there will be a clip of it . The annoying thing was that he had shown a few minutes earlier he could hold the ball up but on this occasion ,as Foxy mentions ,he decides to fall to the ground and lose the ball when the defender went near him instead of doing what he did earlier and pass to one of our players. He'll learn from it.
Who's this match winning wonder kid on our books?Well I'm still trying to get my head round this idea that there's a manager with a match winning wonder kid on his books who wont play him and wants to give him away because he doesn't like his attitude. ..
Really........![]()
Just to clarify mate,i don't think it's his attitude myself,i think it's more Cloughy doesn't fancy him as his sort of player which would be guttering from my point of view as he has great touch and technique, all he needs like anyone is a GOOD RUN of games and not just 20 mins here and there. He's not a match winning wonder kid yet but he certainly could be if given the opportunity imo.Well wizzy I've read several posts about how good the lad is, and I'm not saying he isn't because to be honest I've not seen enough of the lad to judge.
But I have seen posts where there have been claims that the reason he is not being played is some thing other than his football ability, and hints that despite his undoubted promise Nigel is holding him back and will allow him to leave for personal reasons..
My thoughts on this is that's all a load of Hog wash, Nigel knows exactly what he's doing and when he believes the time is right for the lad to be unleashed he will be unleashed forthwith, hopefully to spectacular effect ....![]()

Could it have been given, that was what he was really getting at tbh.Admittedly he said he didn't have the best of views but it did look like it could have been given was more his take rather than should have been given.I would have been gobsmacked if it'd have been given. It was obvious, he was shielding the ball at the byline and being brushed in the back managed to take his legs from underneath him.
I'm not going to slag him for it, but Saturday's example would work about 2 in 10 for me, even with the "quality" of third division refereeing.
I'm far more annoyed that the ref allowed their keeper to pick the ball up outside of the area, stand up with it and then step back into the area without making a decision. He was looking straight at it, then chose to look at his linesman to excuse himself of making a decision.
