I've just seen the headline, the "story" is in the paper:

'Ground for ground Wednesday's is the best in Yorkshire' . . . and Sheffield United doesn't even come in second.'

Hope KMc has him for breakfast, piggy t**t

Dave Richards in an obnoxious , grunting piggy snortbeast twat, who has borrowed Blunkett's eyes.

the worse thing about this (and all the business with scudamore) is that they feel they have to come out immediately after their corrupt dealings and rub our noses in it

Hahahahaha. Well Leeds' ground is better than the Owls'.

Our is more modern than both, but the only thing it isn't better on is capcity.

Great stuff from Richards :)

Haha, let him say what he wants. He could say the Pope shits in the woods but it doesn't make it true does it?

He's only showing himself up because people who have actually visited Bramall Lane, Elland Road and the Sty will know he is talking rubbish.

Interesting stuff and likely to fan the flames in the city. Not the wisest move when you're trying to rally everyone round but at least he's on the record.
Has he said much on the record about the Tevez affair?
Perhaps someone could point me to his comments on that one...

He helped bankrupt his beloved club. He fled onto the PL gravy train. He was there for the Tevez fiasco. He hopped onto the WC bid. He then bailed on the WC bid.

The fact he has any influence at all is a sad reflection.

You missed off bankrupting his business too JD.

My dad always used to tell me people who spend all their time getting on committees everywhere are exactly the ones you don't need on them.

Can't read the full story online but was Richards actually involved in the process to choose grounds?

Totally agree - I've just had to deal with committees in my job and you can see how the professional committee-goers make sure nothing ever gets done as someone always has an objection to whatever you're trying to do

I didn't know he'd bankrupt his own company! It's no wonder he's whoring himself onto every committee he can.

Choo choo!

'Ground for ground Wednesday's is the best in Yorkshire' . . . and Sheffield United doesn't even come in second.'

Outrageous comments from a man who who is commercially and morally bankrupt.
Let's look at stadiums in Yorkshire.
Bramall Lane, Hillsborough, Don Valley, Oakwell, Keepmoat, Huddersfield, Elland Road, Valley Parade, Halifax (draw a line there and not include non league Kit Kat etc ) and lets be really generous and include Hull and Middlesborough.
Biasness apart, how can anyone say that BDTBL is not even 2nd in that list of stadium. Let alone behind the rotting rust bucket that is Hillsborough.
The man is a total prat and typifies everything that's wrong with the so called hierarchy of the FA and Premier League.

You're all being very harsh on him. Like for thousands of other piggies, Hillsborough probably was the best ground in Yorkshire when he last went to a match.

Bang out of order for a man of his position. Why couldn't he have just said that there are several great grounds in Yorkshire and he'd have been happy with whichever ground was picked?

They can have all the World Cup games they want, atleast we keep our dignity at SUFC and don't have officials of the club making comments which wouldn't look out of place on Praise or Grumble.

Why dont we just buy the sty ,shut it down , and put the miserable sods out of their misery ,come on you know it make sense ,and Straffpig would be telling the world about the new investment he got.

I think anyone who thinks Bramall Lane is better than Hillsborough is seriously deluded.
The look and smell of fresh paint at Hillsborough is amazing.
I also understand Dude Strapon is going to weigh the empty paint tins in and and buy a second hand mini bus,so that the players don't have to pay there own train fare to away games anymore.
Take note McCabe

It will truly be a great stadium in the lower leagues because that is where they are headed. All this attention has been a nice diversion away from the fact that they haven't scored in the last nine hours of football and are firmly rooted in the relegation spots.
A few unclean hiding their snouts in the sand!

'Ground for ground Wednesday's is the best in Yorkshire' . . . and Sheffield United doesn't even come in second.'

Translation: 'yes i'm corrupt as sin but i'm loving it yer bastards! up yours!'

And this guy is chairman of the Premier League, chairman of the Football Foundation, an FA Board Director and vice-chairman of The FA International committee.

Words fail me.

I can't believe a man in his position has said such things, but that's his choice. What I find surprising is why he finds such comparisons necessary. Neither BDTBL or Swillsborough are currently anywhere near World cup standard, in either size or quality. He should be appraising the quality, and likelihood, of both proposed developments. I'm sure Strappon must have handed over the fag packet with theirs on, and ours are in the public domain.

None of it alters the fact that the finances of both club's suggest neither should be considering extending their level of debt for this. Wendy are welcome to it, as was my stance before the decision.

UTB

Wasn't the work on the sty supposed to start this month?

Whats the hold up, it can't be money can it?

Having read his comments, I just cant believe that a man in his position has to come out and defend a decision to which he had no in put, unless he had in some way. Then to go and try and vinidcate that decision with quotes as to the reasons such as the stadium, how? transport links a tram and bus stop not in walking distance from the main railway and bus stations!! access and egress?? what onto a main road on one side and a minor road the other and not surrounded on all sides by roads therefore creating a bottle neck!!

This man is just what is wrong with the FA and FA premier league, short sighted, biased and just looking after their own!

It is no surprise that he resigned/kick out of the bidding team, as he doesnt have his wing man Scudamore to hide behind, and visa versa.

I dont even think there is a wednesday fan who has anything good to say about this man either, it is his actions that have put them in the position they are today, so he cant be all bad!!

I think he left the bidding team after he had done his damage believing by leaving he wouldn't be blamed for the decision.

Richards' was interviewed by Nick Ward - 100% pig. His breath probably stank of Dave Richards shit afterwards.
This 'newshound' recently had a review of the pie stand on the kop at Swillsboro published in the food & drink section of The Star. Another food review he did was the chippy round the corner from his house.

I'm not suggesting he is winging it or anything.
