Not surprised to see that as of yet he has failed to find another club as of yet.

Seems Mansfield aren't even bothered about offering him a permanent contract after his spell down there in last season. He really wasn't up to it really was he and after he had a pop at United fans on Twitter I'm sorry but I don't really care if nobody takes him on.

To be fair to him, he was mainly responding to the abuse he got.

Technically, he was a decent player, just a bit slow and never really got going/had enough confidence.

i thought he did ok but had a tendency to switch off for crosses and cost us a lot of goals

Agree, its his living, and I hope he does get signed up somewhere. Maybe needs a drop down to Conference level to get him back on track. Bit of a strange signing for us which just never worked out, though we did have a fair few warnings from Walsall fans, who seemed quite divided about his abilities.

Good point Martin, in all of this, we sometimes forget there's a human being at the heart of this. If Westlake had been abused out of all proportion to what he's meant to have done, then it's those who criticize in gross or extreme terms who should take a look at themselves. I hope the guy gets himself sorted somewhere, even if it's outside of football.

I see it on here, criticism is handed out as if it's not a person who's under attack, but some sort of robot who is immune to whatever's said. Those who think that's the case, maybe they'll learn that there's more to life than blind loyalty to a cause.

Good luck in future Daryl.

Yep, bloke gets dogs abuse and isn't supposed to respond. If memory serves me he was responding to shit thrown by some of our brilliant supporters. Had every right to have a pop back.

Didn't rate him highly as a player but he wasn't the worst I have seen in red and white by some way.

If you don't care if no one takes him on why post about it on here?

Kilmarnock have completed the signing of former Walsall and Sheffield United defender Darryl Westlake on a two-year contract according to Sky.

I thought he was a twat.
Il always remember when he moaned about going on our preseason tour instead of going on a summer holiday with the lads....
You can live it up in Tenerife every summer now pal.
I don't care how good he was(which he wasn't) his attitude sucked!!

I, for one, will always remember the lovely centre he put over for McDonald to knock in for our opening goal in the Notts County

game last season.

signed for Killmarnock on the recommendation of one of Scotlands most revered legends.................. David Weir.

"Former #SheffieldUtd ace"...
