OK changing the tone a bit here.

It all started for me back in 1970/71 when I used to wear my lucky red short sleeved shirt. Every time I wore it we didn't lose. It went on to the superb 71/72 season, when away at Boarding school I wore it under my schooly one!

Later as an adult I started cementing my aversion to blue on match days and I have 3 thin red and white striped ordinary shirts that I choose from to wear on match days. I refuse to wear blue! Even the trousers are black.

Indeed as posted before I won't ever buy a blue car that's how sad/obsessed about the Blades I am.

The only over the top thing is the personalised car reg. SU04RGC. My missus thinks it's because of her (she is called Sue,) but no it is because of the Wizaaaaards!

I MUST hear a Def Leppard song on the way to the lane, doesn't matter which one. I don't know when this started but it goes back at least four year. Since they never seem to play any Def Leppard inside the ground I have a playlist on my MP3 player which I play just before the start of football heaven.

Feels wrong not to.

You sound perfectly normal to me.

I wont ever go through a turnstyle where the number adds up to 13 eg 58
I used to go through a turnstyle and if we won then it was the same one the game after and so on till we lose. Just go through the extra wide one now due to the slim figure.

I've had loads over the years. If any had worked we'd have won the Champions League by now.

So... Having seen us lose a zillion playoffs and cup semis, I just can't be remotely arsed anymore. :)

I didnt buy a programme for the Burnley playoff game as they were the only ones I bought and we always lost. As you know it didnt work

Me and a few mates always walk under the sign on granville road the McDonalds. Never lost when we all walk under it.
Seems to be our pre-match ritual.

Shall be doing the same Wednesday

UTB

Lucky green socks - I'm on my 4th pair. Seen us lose 3 cup semis - 3 play off finals and then drop all the way to the 3rd Div. They're good then! :D

I also have a flag that I think my be unlucky. Only used it once (Wembley vs Burnley) - so perhaps a bit too soon to judge, but feel reluctant to bring it out again!

I attended my first FA Cup match, as a 9-year-old, on 8 January 1949, against New Brighton. My dad bought me a red and white rosette from a seller in Bramall Lane.
We won 5 - 2.

I wore the rosette at every game for the rest of the season.

We were relegated.

I put it down to the cursed rosette so it finished up in the fire.

never watch the kick off.. if i'm (by some miracle) in my seat then i'll turn my back to the pitch for a minute or so.. mad or what?.. it's been working this year though.. mainly.. umm:confused:

Begs the question, considering how we've under achieved over the last x number of years and have generally buggered up every one-off game since god knows when, how are these rituals 'lucky' :o

LOL - in principle I agree, but I appreciate the 'spirit' of why some go to these "daft" lengths as the title says...basically why I raise a few jars to not really care and just get a 'buzz' outta been at the Lane (although that last Tranmere game I was at no matter how much one downed wouldn't have drowned that)...
