Quote from Wilder:

"Thomas had won the respect of coaching staff by putting Bramall Lane before his own pocket. “I’ve got to say, for the boy to turn down double his money at Middlesbrough, on his own doorstep, I think that is a right tick in the box for us,” Wilder said. “It tells you a lot about the type of person he is. “Okay, he might have looked at it and thought he’s got more chance of starting here that at Boro but whatever; it tells you something about his character and commitment. It speaks volumes about what’s important to him and about the type of lad he is.”

Well done lad :)

Wilder failed to mention Thomas's clairvoyancy abilities.

When we signed him he said he "was really looking forward to next season's Sheffield derbies"
At the time many Wednesdayites were convinced they were certainties for the PL but our Nathan knew better.

Maybe his fortune telling skills also tell him Sheff Utd will have a better immediate future than Boro and that's why he joined us.

Stable club on the up v relegated side with managerial changes...

The lad certainly has his own views and was not slow to express them at Hartlepool.

He knows how good he is and plays with that panache. I see a bit of a maverick and the sort who will win games for us on his own. I also see a lad who will infuriate us and his team mates.

Personally I love to watch players who offer that something different and I have confidence in Knill and Wilder that they will get the lad to harness his skills for the benefit of the team.

Not one for the "gerritforard" and "getstuckinyerneshbastard" brigade then? He'll not last 2 minutes at Bramall Lane where a team of Monty's > a team of Messi's
