I've always been the first to jump on the HATE COTTS bandwagon. But today he was beyond amazing, he showed true class and ripped hull's defence apart.

I realise it's a new thread i just thought we should focus a bit on cotts after todays performance.

Keep it up!

Also. Was i watching sheffield untied today? Because i swear i watched an actual GAME OF FOOTBALL!?

The question is now, will blackwell keep this going, or will he go back to his old ways?

We all know what cotterill can do from last season, how he hasnt been given a proper chance is a disgrace really, but he cant be droped after today.

I think Blackwell will stick with him.

If not, then he needs his head looking at.

Where was he when we played Wednesday? Last time I saw hm play against Wednesday he caused a few problems for 'em

He was fantastic. If he and Hendrie don't start the next game I'll bang my head against a brick wall.

A very good question, for me the jury's still out.

The thing is... the way they play at home and the way they play away has been different all season. What is seen as negative at home has worked away for some inexplicable reason.

I agree on that performance, Cotterill should be given the chance to have a bit of a run and get some confidence back. But I wouldn't be too upset if we have to shuffle the pack a bit on Saturday with the injuries we have. Then the game after that is the cup match at Hull. And who knows that kind of a side we'll have left by then!?

I think the real measure of how we're going to move forward (or not?) will be the game at home against Brum.

I think we all believe that, as soon as Darius is fit, we will resort to long ball to his head, whereas maybe just maybe, wingers getting to the byeline and crossing for him to head in..................

Cotterill has not had a chance to play to his strengths this season because of the hoofball.

Not 100% correct in my opinion.
When he has been playing previous to the Hull game he did a good impression of a shop dummy, stood on the halfway line on many occasions where he could have been running ready for Naughton to play balls down the line for him
He did the running against Hull which is a huge improvement and long may it continue.

I think you have a valid point here Sensi. In the (Few) matches that cotts has played this season it has been with Naughton behind him, who will overlap on the wing quite alot. Difference on Saturday (Although i didnt go) was probably having SJH behind him. Yes he can still go forward, but doesnt as much as naughton.

That could then be the key. Cotts cant tackle and we all know it, but his lack of moving forward when naughton is behind him could simply be that the overlap means he has to be ready to track back
