I guess it partly reflects Wilder's personality (takes responsibility, demands the same of others, listens to the views of others), and what he has learned from previous jobs (team spirit vital, include everybody, take advice wherever it is available). His approach lends itself to the small, tight-knit squad, and is working well so far. He would need to adapt (and no doubt would)if he worked at a higher level, either here or elsewhere, where squads are bigger, coaching staff more numerous, etc. If Clough had wanted to consult the players in his final season, he would have had to hire the City Hall!
