Never heard of him but I like sound of him. 6'2" defender and only 22 years old. Sign him up Danny, sign him up.

Paul Walker put this on twitter earlier this morning

I'm expecting Swindon defender Jean Francois to be joining SUFC in next 24 hours.

How do you know this??

Paul Walker has tweeted it. Worries me slightly that he's described as a 'cult hero' on the Swindon site but glad to see us signing players with potential. Text from a wendy mate said 'he was OK against us last season' - that sounds good to me, he can remember him so he must've stood out as a good player.

Excellent. A defender from a side relegated to the 4th Division. Just what we need.

No offence but is Wilson going to sign the entire Swindon team

Hmmm, for 'cult hero' I read shit but tries hard. As we've lost Nos we could do with a new one I supposed, doesn't every team have one?!

Even poor sides sometimes have a few good players axel. We're crap, but would you say (for example) Matt Lowton or Lee Williamson are?

I think Matt Lowton is a good player, whether we can retain him I don't know. Lee Williamson is okay, but after being down at Ipswich in Feb his discipline leaves much to be desired.

No offence, but how does signing our new french legend equal signing their whole squad?

If you ask some on here, We had a team full of cults last season

Spelling slightly off there china

Now there's confidence. Following in the footsteps of other gallic superstars like Jean-Phillipe Javary and Laurent "Lion of Hillsborough" D'Jaffo.

love it !

Negative attitude constantly round here.

Jamie Ward was a 4th division player when we signed him, then he was our best striker until he got injured.

Asked a swindon supporting mate about him and:

""Ha, bloody Wilson. On his day not bad, prob 1 of our better defenders and could have done with keeping him certainly in league 2. Bear in mind we got relegated last year so our defence was shit."

Typical attitude ,nobody on here has ever seen him but he must be shit because we've signed him. Where have we picked these ''fans' up from ?

So the thread is now on page 2 and ONE person (Axel, suggesting signing someone who got relegated out of our division last season is not what we need) and it's a "so called fans" rant.

I have no opinion on him but if he's better than Collins (and how can he not be?) he'll do for me.

Collins to go???

Pure speculation, but could this pave the way for Collins to be on his bike??

(please, please let it be true)

I suppose if we signed Messi you'd say he's all left foot, can't tackle or head the ball?! :p

Is Lionel Messi a defender in a team that was relegated to Division Four? If he is then I don't want him. If however he is an Argentinian forward, player of the year, scorer of 50 goals and winner of La Liga and the European Cup, then I would very much welcome him to Bramall Lane.

Some people who have posted on this thread: Why feel the need to group everything into negative/positive groupings? Some signings I will like, some I won't like, some people will like them, some won't.

We are a Third Division club now, so of course we won't be making marquee signings, however I would be very happy for all DW's signings to prove fruitful.

Maybe Collins is off to Kilmarnock. If they think Heffernan will set the world alight then Collins definately will.

The proof is where we are in the league.
If we had signed better players who had some professionalism about them then maybe we would not be looking at the likes of Jean-Francois. Fact is we are - fact is that Swindon were relegated last year with a goal difference of -22 after conceding 72 goals. Compare that with Blades -35 and 79 conceded. Seems right up our street then.

Fans who have seen far better players in 40 years of watching the Blades
Also witnessed some absoulte tripe as well. Far more tripe than fillet might we say.

I have just been reading comments on some of the Swindon forums about this lad. The general gist was was that he is a good young player with potential and is liked by their fans.

- Can play centre back or left back
- Quick and strong
- Prone to the occasional error
- Just turned down a new contract with them
- DW didn't play him much last season

He sounds like a player we could develop. Worth a go if he is signing on a free!

If Fulham end up getting Slew, do you think their fans will be justified in feeling hard done by because he's a striker from the 3rd Division? That's two divisions below them, not the one between us and Swindon.

Or do you think they'll wait and see what he's like.

Just sayin'.

Got to trust DW on this, the guy at the side on him might be pants and made him look bad. I'll just be happy to see transfer movement.
