Yes, based on what I've seen I have no idea what Clough sees in him. He must do something in training. Mind you, Lappin and Coady both seem like wasted wages to me.

White has been really poor so far. He constantly gives the ball away and I've yet to see any evidence of the pace he is meant to have. The Walsall winger left him for dead when crossing for their goal at the Lane the other week. Add him to the long list of recent loanees who, incredibly, are no better than we have already. I'm not against loans though - many clubs, including the pigs, have shown that decent quality loans can make all the difference.

I think he's very poor, albeit improved on Saturday. Against Walsall he gave one goal away and was lucky to get away without another one (that underhit back header to Long that was intercepted). He couldn't seem to complete a simple five yard pass either.

Easily sum up what I have seen of him so far, better than Williams (who isn't?) about on a par with Hill, so whatever way you look at it he's not very good.

The problem is we just keep on getting rubbish ones. Though there's not a lot on the horizon from the academy it seems, if it can't out do the kind of crap we get in on loan you have to wonder why we keep it going. I appreciate it has delivered at times, but I wonder if it covers the real costs overall. And I wonder if the resource and energy directed towards it wouldn't be best targeted to buying players in positions we need, rather than the inevitable ad hoc way they come from the academy.

His defending isn't great, i'll give you that, but he doesn't avoid his attacking responsibility and gallops forward quite a bit. He took huge criticism for the Walsall game and nobody acknowledged that it was him who was fouled for the penalty decision that was evened up later in the game...

That suggests, to me anyway, that he won't be here post January unless we make it permanent. Wouldn't be a great signing for me if we do, as I'd be looking to get a decent permanent LB in during the summer.

I like Matt Hill.. But at CB. Unfortunately, he's not better than Collins or Maguire but an able deputy. I did like the 3-5-2 style at Cambridge though
