Our walk up has always been terrible it is all about season ticket sales - and our offer to new/returning fans I think was £400 for the Kop. Not sure what the £250 was but that was not fir STs around the ground even at the dicsount.
agreed the match day pricing is scandalous for championship matches and think this will be the last season for ultra low season ticket prices watch the sales come down if that happens

Surely we’re doing ok on walk ups so far 21000 ST holders, 2000/2500 away fans and averaging around 28000. Implies 4500+walk ups. I do agree though that walk up prices will deter casual attendance if we continue to bump along in mid table (or worse).

Completely disagree.

The significant investment is pie in the sky and extremely unlikely to happen (as you say, the current owner wants his cake and to eat it, same as the previous owner "I want to sell, but I still want the controlling share in the club!", which is not going to happen). The current owner has probably got another 12 months, or just over before he runs out of time and the club won't be self financing at relatively small levels, so I would say that the club is up for sale and probably quicker than you think.
I agree with everything you say. The ‘club is not for sale’ is the stance, however i think we have been up for sale for a long time. Everything has its price...Why would HRH turn down a big takeover.

I'm over 60 and been returning for more years than I care to remember

In all honesty GHLF I don't see a big takeover on the horizon TBH, more like the current owner has to sell at a low value before the financial burden becomes too much to him and the club. The next owners could be anything, especially if the club is sold for a low sum?

TBH, I am worried at the minute, because the current owner will likely need to sell within the next 12-18 months, the previous owner has started to show his face around the club again, which is not a good sign (the previous owner/family) is/are far worse than the current) and I don't see a takeover from someone with deep pockets anytime in the near future (I honestly believe that this will only happen if we were promoted again)?

Spoke to a mate who helped secure the money from the Chinese investors who built china town/city center and and they are interested in buying the club apparently

Same type of people who took over Villa apparently
Be typical sheff utd. Imagine a takeover from someone from China but turns out to be a skint one 😂

Don’t think McCabe would be coming to the rescue in that scenario he’s an old man and I don’t his kids wanted much to do with it before. McCabe was looking for an out himself last time.
Not that old!!!
But probably doesn't want the all the s..t that goes with owning a FC
Same age as me so I know how he would feel!

He’s old enough not to fancy having to deal with all the agro in the south stand car park again like you say.
