Rob Staton's interview with Nigel Clough today - https://audioboo.fm/boos/2227346-in...=retweet&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter

Main bits as follows, some additional bits and pieces that follow on from the Brannigan interview.

On Basham:
- fought off Championship interest to sign him
- Not keen on being tagged versatile, so we'll probably pin him down to one position - he'll be in our 11 somewhere, but where will depend on who comes in
- good character, at his peak age-wise

On Butler:
- another one where there was a lot of interest
- he's a potential captain, we're open on who captains the side next season - will be decided much nearer the start of the season
- he could have had a shout at a Championship club
- no impact on Harry's future. If an offer comes into Harry that's good for the club we'll consider it - there hasn't been yet. If Harry had signed for three years, Butler would still have been signed.

On Davies:
- we're about there with Ben, one year deal, should be confirmed very soon.

On Porter:
- we'll hear back next week whether he's agreed to the deal

The rest:
One more signing is quite close. Still chasing that elusive striker who would be "the main one".
James Wallace - we like him, talks ongoing with the two clubs.
McGinn - we move on, our valuation too far away from theirs.
Sharp - no contact at all with Billy, we've made contact with other clubs on other players so we'll see how things go with those.
