"Classless"

The latest word in the average Wednesdayite's vocabulary.

Is this true? Have I been duped? Is this really a club supported by vile, classless pond life? Are our neighbors really the footballing equivalent of the Samaritans?

This is important to me guys. I'm not quite sure I feel comfortable about supporting a football club that has the temerity to land a couple of subtle, derby day digs at its main rivals after nearly six years of it from the other side.

I think the Wednesday supporters who did that have brought a whole new dimension to classless.

I just don't get people bringing "class" into football fandom really. In almost any case there's virtually no difference between one set of fans and the next. For any fan to to call his or hers club's supporters classy and others classless is ridiculous, and usually spouted by the kind of boorish bullshit merchants you'd avoid like the plague at a family do.

I think it’s probably a snobbishness born out of their newfound riches.

To be fair, it’s just ‘banter’. Anybody who genuinely believes the shit they say about rivals is a fucking idiot. On both sides.
